Thank you for the good wishes, everyone!

In some good news, our artist was able to finish his drawing of Monolith, and will likely stay on-board for future illustrations as well! What a relief! Here's our sad boi, Monolith!

@L.W. Flouisa @MechScapeZH @Mirpono Thank you for the kind words! Our artist is talented indeed!

With this year's pride month in full swing, I would like to write a little something about our queer characters in Eternal Dreamers! Life has been a tad hectic, but I hope to have more to celebrate with later this month!

Alexandra & Eucretia

Alexandra and Eucretia are the two chief researchers in charge of the operation to uncover the secrets of the dream. They have known each other since their college days, and formed an unbreakable bond since. Their biggest passion is their work, at which they complement one another effortlessly. However, they enjoy a shared taste in music as well.

Marlon

Marlon of the Hero class is a mere shop clerk back in the real world. But it's who and not what you are that can make you a good person. With his boyfriend's fate unknown, Marlon has an iron resolve to end the spread of the disease to save his beloved.

Faeris

Faeris has been close with nature all their life. To them, the lush forests of their hometown are akin to a place almost frozen in time. This love for nature nurtured into a profession as Faeris chose the life of a herbalist.

We're all one, and pride month helps remind us of that! It's all the colors that make life vibrant and beautiful! Stay tuned for more later!

Due to a number of health circumstances, the last three weeks have been dictated by constant pain, doctor's visits and short stays at the hospital. As a result, I've slipped behind schedule for the development of this game. You've been supportive of my time off, which I very much appreciate. And now I would like to let you know that I can finally resume work on this project. I am going to give you a short overview for a new feature currently planned for the next patch. Details may of course change in its eventual implementation.

Rooms & Gifting Feature

One aim of mine has been to allow the player to grow closer to the cast of Eternal Dreamers. To accomplish this, the addition of private quarters for your party members will make it possible for you to spend some time alone with them to hear about their stories. These talks will come hand-in-hand with a new gameplay element in the form of gifting. This new feature will allow you to purchase gifts for your crew to pin for their affection. Doing so will not only unlock new dialogue, but also net you gifts in return, down to new abilities. Hold on though: there will be nothing sexual, nothing romantic. Each of these characters have established lives and relationships, and are not meant for you to conquer by the virtue of a few mere gifts.

A common point of criticism has been the singularity of the gameplay experience, so finding new ways to break up the monotony always is at the front of my thoughts. Together with the casino, I hope this new feature finally will give players enough time outside of battle. I'll give it my all to create this new, exciting feature!

So long!

I hope that has passed!

Yeah well...logically so i would say...

I think adding this new system is a great idea and it not being about romance even a better one :D

While some question marks remain, I am in much better condition now. One thing I know for sure is that I have a number of lifestyle changes to make, which has been a struggle when suddenly you find yourself unable to eat a great many things. I'll get through it though. I'm feeling positive. Thank you for your concern, and also congrats on the nice badge.

I totally understand. Not too long ago I ended up in hospital to find to my surprise I am now a diabetic! So yeah having to turn around your life can come as a bit of a shock I know, still if that prevents you from being in constant pain or risking your life... well worth it! And once you get used to it (and you will) it'll be much less of a struggle then when you are at the start. (my friend has crones disease and she now has no problem with it at all anymore, though it took her a while to get to that point).

And thank you :) I love having the badge hee hee

Hey, everyone!

Development of the rooms and gifting feature is progressing smoothly. Today I want to share the nine quarters of our nine heroes! While there is no way rooms would look so different in what is essentially a dorm, this is a dream, and in a dream anything is possible! With rooms to match their personalities, who do you think lives in which of these rooms?

All right, let me take a stab at it... :)

The middle one with the piano is definitely Monolith's. The top-right one probably belongs to the healer (whose name I don't remember) because of the flowers- I remember her saying that she liked them at one point. The top middle one is definitely Anna's (her name is Anna, right?) because it has medical stuff and she's a nurse... Other than that, I'm not as sure. The middle-left with all the books is... the Captain's? He's kind of intellectual, right? Other than that, I have no clue.

This feature looks cool, but if I can put in my 2 cents- personally, I like the fact that the game is mostly battles. To be honest, I don't really care about gifting/relationships & such- I want to do the battles and get to the end of the story so I can see how it turns out. If I can, I'd like stuff like this to be optional- it'll be optional, right?

Additionally- I've been playing your game again since I have more time now, and I'd like to make a suggestion- allow the party members not in battle to receive EXP as well. Otherwise, I have to grind when I want to change my party, and that's really boring, at least to me. Still can't pass the volcano...

Looks great! :)

I agree, I think Anna's room is that one too. I think the very first one is the Hero's (he is the only one who uses swords).
The top-right one is, in my opinion, that of the Assassin (since he uses poisons and that one has a lot of plants), but I am not sure, because the mid-bottom one could also be his room. The one that is not the Assassin's is, in my opinion that of the Preacher. I have no clue about the other ones.

I did it once but it was quite fast, just bring 2 high level characters and 2 low level ones and go for easy levels. Their level, after all, does not increase their stats as much as items. A low level character with good items can be powerful and take on very high level enemies.

Oh, really? Thanks.

But still- I'd prefer not to have to do it at all. Nothing makes me more bored than going through a stage that I've already gone through.

Good effort, you two! You correctly guessed... 3 out of 9 rooms! Oh my! Top-left: Marlon | Top-center: Anna | Top-right: Faeris

Let me talk more about the details of the new system. First of all, it will be completely optional. Currently, I plan on it being unlocked after the player clears the first stage of the game. You will be introduced to the quarters where everyone resides, with your team being assigned its very own floor. From that point onward, you may go visit each of your party members whenever you like.

The gifts for your party members will be obtained through a new gift shop in the mall, the casino, and potentially other means I have yet to decide on. They come in 3 tiers, each giving more sympathy points than the last, and one per tier giving more to a specific character especially fond of the gift.

Once enough points have been accumulated, you will increase your sympathy level with that character. As a result, they will receive slight stat gains and/or other boni. These won't make for an overwhelming difference, but cause a small increase in performance either way. Additionally, characters of higher sympathy levels will be more prone to telling you about themselves, who they are and where they come from.

Long story short, you won't have to engage with the system at all, but be rewarded if you do. Regarding your exp concerns, unfortunately I do not plan on having members on standby receive experience. It was a deliberate change I made a while ago to increase the game's replayability and make levels matter. I will look into the price of experience tickets, but do not want to promise any changes right now.

You say you are stuck in the volcano? What is your current party composition, and what stage is it that gives you trouble? Have you used amplifiers on your equipment? Let's get you through it!

I'm curious to see in what direction you're going to take this system and it's in-game execution. sounds really interesting and fun and rewarding without being mandatory (which is always good).

I'm not sure about the gifts being simply buy-able though, seems a little easy to me (but that's based on just what you've told us so far so by no means a real actual assessment more a concern haha)

Sounds cool. On second thought, if it unlocks more background on the characters, I might be interested...

My team is Marlon (LV 15), Natsume, (LV 14) Faeris (LV 14), and Monolith (LV 14). All of them have learned all the skills they can learn, and I've used Bronze amplifiers on their equipment. I'm stuck on "King of the Dragons." There's just too many enemies- my party members just run out of resources by the midboss.

With this party you should be able to take it more or less easy. Natsume's Ice Shot can freeze the last enemy and allow you to rest to a certain extent. She has to use Focus every turn and will recover AP very slowly, but other party members can use focus and gain their AP back. If you do not recover and heal before the mid-boss you are going to have a hard time dealing with it.

Since enemies start getting tougher, you are supposed to start micro-managing your party resources as you go on, otherwise they will annihilate you (even if the toughest fight I had so far was the boss at the tower, lvl 35...it was VERY tough).

Currently, players generate a lot of money, so I wanted to give them another place to empty their pockets. Of course, if sympathy levels are too easily or strenuously acquired, I will make the necessary adjustments. It will likely take a couple of updates to get that just right.

Seems @Heirukichi has given you good advice already. Natsu's freeze ability can be very powerful against boss-type enemies. Additionally, if you feel you lack in defensive power, I would recommend substituting Monolith for the Captain. Monolith struggles in long stages due to the need to manage his HP, and his Waste ability can cause the boss to repeatedly cast Enrage and spam powerful abilities. Meanwhile, Forest will enhance your offense and defense both as well as ease your AP management. I think making this a fight of attrition might be the better call.

I really get the feeling I should be doing regular YouTube videos whenever I make something cool in my game, instead of waiting for massive changes. But not going to lie... I always feel like it's never quite enough to merit an update, until it's a drastic change. :kaoswt:
