SYNOPSIS:

My goal is to create a fully-realized, fully developed world mostly using the base assets, as I'd like to tell an interesting and engaging story, full of character development and juicy lore bits.

The year is 965 in the Cormian Calendar, and the war between the Gareau empire and the Holy See of Cormier has finally entered into it's current peace treaty. You start out as Aldis Hom, a lumber worker from Hometown who dreams of an exciting life, filled with traveling the world and adventures.

While exploring the ruins near his village with his friend, Aldis falls deep into the ruins, where he frees the sleeping amnesiac, Ly'ta. Although she doesn't remember who she is or why she's there, Ly'ta is the catalyst that changes Aldis's life, and will ultimately change the world.

Together, Aldis and Ly'ta travel the world to the Holy See of Cormier, in hopes of discovering who and what she is, while avoiding the pursuit of the Black Brigade from the Gareau Empire who have sinister plans for her and her abilities.

  • A vast and cohesive world with unique locations and a storied history, full of life and character.
  • A mostly linear, character-driven-story that focuses on the journey and developing the characters.
  • 6 playable characters, each distinct from one another.
  • Uses Conditional Turn-based Battle System.
  • Features Item creation, Weapon forging, and Armor crafting.
  • Unique abilities and types of skills/magic for each character that are learned through a branching 'Skill Learning' system.
  • 'Stat Allocation' for unique customization of characters.
  • Currently uses Akashics SV enemies, as well as Bravado's SV actors/faces for the Cover Art Character's DLC
  • NPC sprites are unique, so that your'e never really seeing the same face twice.

3000 years ago, ancient humanity did something that completely changed the structure of our world. But nobody's been able to figure out what it was exactly that happened. Most records from that time have been lost, or are in the language of the ancients, which is mostly illegible to modern humanity. Though the Gareau Empire has recently begun to finally excavate various ruin sites, the history of the world is mostly unknown.
Background_1.png
This story takes place on the continent of Parmiel, a land embroiled in constant conflict over it's natural resources.
The main political power are the Gareau Empire and the Holy See of Cormier.

  • Ether is the magical, mystical energy that permeates the land and allows the use of various abilities. Through manipulating the Ether in the air, people are capable of performing etherical acts, such as Runology. Runology and Symbology are the most commonly used forms of Ether in the world but other types do exist, such as Ly'ta's Tautology
  • The Gareau Empire is a strong militaristic nation, spanning the southern half of the continent, who seek access to the Ancient Lighthouse, protected by the Holy See of Cormier. The Empire controls the port city of Alvis, as well as the mystic Chrysm Mines of Halone, which they overtook in the recent war with Cormier. Though some people of the nation outwardly practice religion, the nation as a whole doesn't have a proper religion, and most just worship an Unnamed Goddess, seen in various statues and reliefs throughout the land. The Gareau Empire is a monarchy, currently ruled by King Phillip, after the untimely passing of his father, King Geran Gareau III.
  • The Holy See of Cormier is a strict, religious nation located off the northern sees of the world, who guard the secrets of the ancients locked inside Af'Khan Lighthouse. Though Cormier may seem like a smaller nation compared to the Gareau Empire, since their rule only encompasses Cormier proper and the Foroham Flatt, they are a nation of highly skilled Ether users. Cormier is ruled by a High Priest and a committee of senators and is the last stop before entering the Endless Desert.
Hometown.png
HOMETOWN
The town Aldis and Terre call home. They're house in further off into the Northern Woods.

Lumberyard.png
THE LUMBERYARD
Where Aldis and Terre currently work.

Rondel.png
RONDEL
The city built around the Gareau Castle. It's a massive, bustling hub with lots to find.

SommelFlatt.png
SOMMEL FLATT
A massive cliff-side with a massive waterfall barreling over the side. It's a breathtaking site for many a traveler who passes by.

Halone.png
HALONE
The home of Toriel and a small Mining Village. Its a unique location in that all the building are connected underground, due to the extreme weather outside.

I currently don't have a playable demo as I'm trying to finalize some stuff so that it doesn't crash but I HOPE to have something up somewhere soon!!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
