Ethereal End
Synopsis:
An RPG-based game that draws its heritage from Final Fantasy I. There will be a huge world to discover, (although, initially it might seem quite small,) with continents, islands, oceans, and many hidden areas open to those willing to fulfil the conditions. Scripted events and random encounters will litter the overworld, dungeons, and cities. It will play a lot like the usual VXAce in both exploration and fights, which will be the same unless I get a more brilliant idea for a battle system. The heavy investment in this game will be the story, and where it breaks away from the rising, starry-eyed hero into an adventure that unilaterally affects everyone.
Character:
Protagonist - Lokshul Strong - A strong-willed warrior who wields two blades. He's gifted with amazing reflexes, but is frustrated at his weakness. Even more taxing, his entire village has outed him and are a hair's breadth away from having him killed. Alone, he sets out again to gather a party to defeat The Shadowed One who is ruling the world with an iron fist.
Story:
The World Alnis is in an age of darkness, and under the iron grip of The Shadowed One it has remained unbroken for over 300 years. Still, even when hero after hero have tried to destroy him, even when entire cities were burned and their residents forced to flee, and even when hope has been quashed and beaten, some people aspire even greater to become the heroes of legend.

Notes:
Each World Map and Town will only be 17x13. I'm not a mapper, not a great one anyways. I'm a story-teller at heart. So, once my story is set in place and everything is good, THEN I'll get them upgraded to actually be bigger.
EDIT:
Interesting synopsis and I can tell that you really are planning a lot for this game, but you haven't told us enough. The synopsis sounds great but it didn't really tell anything about the story, you know? Right now, it does sound very ambiguous as it is and all. XD
You're right. And there's a reason for this... I'm just not that completely comfortable about releasing key plot points just yet. I've been brewing this story in my head for the better part of two years. HOWEVER, I would ask the same question, so I added my main protagonist to help a little bit with the setting.
I really wanna play this now haha. Just from the challenge of the boulder puzzle.
Cant wait for the release, hope all is well.
I'm glad to hear it. However, it's far from what I'd like released, although a demo is not that far away.
