I've been working on a mystery game project for a while now but hit a bit of a snag; I had Moghunter's Ultima HUD script plugged in and have already modded graphics for it to fit my need but it doesn't seem to run during events which doesn't work because that's exactly when I need a HUD. I was planning on doing something similar to the Ace Attorney series in game style where health is lost due to wrong deductions; here's a screenshot of that gameplay and it's bar for comparison, though it's not exactly what I'm looking for:
I don't really mind using an extremely simple script or if it has more than just health built in (I've already had to fix a few other scripts to fit the project so I'm sure I could figure out what to do) and I don't really mind if it means I can't use the graphics I already designed as well (I already had to change the entire first case, so it's not that big of a deal; I'd be more annoyed if I found this out later on, though)

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
