Event help please

So i was wondering if anyone knew how, and could maybe explain how, to get an event to roll in a different area without having to make the party members invisible and transfer it to the location of the event. For example, my intro to my game starts before you even see the main character, yet the only way i know how to get this scene to start first and show right after you hit new game, is to make your party members start out as a blank non existing character and having it start in the area of the intro. How would i start the intro without having it set up this way? Or say i wanna show a event that takes place somewhere else that the players you control aren't at?  Any help would be awesome! I'm trying to figure this out on my own, but i've been at it for about a week now and it's just got my brain all in a jumble and makes me wanna chuck my computer out a window >.> Any help is greatly appreciated :)

That's how it's normally done - by making sure in the System tab that transparency is ON and putting your player's starting position where the cutscene is going to happen.


If it's one where there's a lot of movement and you want the camera to follow, you could simply do a Change Actor Graphic to set the first actor's sprite to the NPC you WANT the camera to follow. Then you don't have to move an NPC AND the player at the same time. And just use Change Actor Graphic at the end to put them back to their real sprite.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
