how do i make a stool event that used to put beside from a bookshelf so that the player can reach and get an item on top of the bookshelf?

I didn't understand your request.
Do you want the player to be able to climb on an object, or will he also need to move that object to the point where the item is?

i want them to be both. When the stool is blocked by an impassable tile the player can climb and check if there can be an item or something.

1. make a stool sprite
2. make the character
3. make "character standing on the stool" sprite
4. make the event to progress like this:
a. place the event with stool sprite as it is grapich
b. set the trigger to be "push by button (or something)"
c. make your "controllable character" goes transparent and change the stool event grapich to no.3 (add some sound effect)
d. place "wait" for the timing of process (character stand on the stool and search a book)
e. process done, revert the c process

more or less like that, send the screenshot how your event process in here if you still dont understand. Other ppl will try to help too

Haven't been on here actively in awhile, project is going strong my biggest issue is the STORY, i'm refining the plot and learning so much i decided to take a writers class to improve even more but the programming and functionality of the game is stepping up nicely!
Hi everyone! Here's what I'm working on today! It's one of the dorms on campus. I know I said I wouldn't use assets but I reused a few things from the cafeteria hehe.

I added a little squish effect when characters change direction to try and make things a bit more lively. Though it's a bit hard to see on the fast moving guys.
