Event Issue

     I am extremely new to RPG Maker MV, only having it for a couple days. (If I am posting this in the incorrect place, please inform me)


I have come across an issue that I cannot find a solution for, even with experimentation. To help anyone get a better idea of what I am


talking about, I will say the specifics of the issue. In the second map, the mother tells you to go on a quest if you use the action button


to speak with her. However, in the same map, there is the exit door which leads you on your way. But, I figured out quickly that people


could simply not talk to her and continue the story like it's supposed to go. I tried a couple tactics to make the door only accessible


after talking to the mother, but I ended up making the "You cannot leave yet!" message appear whenever you tried to leave, before


or after you talked to the mother, making the next map completely inaccessible. I couldn't find any solution, even by searching it,


so I'm asking here. :)

Turn on a switch (I'll just call it "Quest") when the player talks to the mother and gets the quest. Then you have two option for the door event:


Either put a Conditional Branch around the transfer event, so that it looks like this:


If Switch "Quest" is ON


    Transfer Player


Else


    Show Message


Or make a second event page for the door event. On the second page, check Switch: Quest on the conditions on the left and put you Transfer command on that page. Go back to the first page and put your message here. If you go with this option, make sure your pages are in the correct order: No condition on page one, Switch condition on page two.


You might want to have a look at Andar's tutorial compilation for new users (I don't have a link right now, but it should be easy to find). Although most of the tutorials there are for VX Ace, they can be applied to MV as well.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
