Hello,

I'm having some difficulty setting jumping behavior for a event's move route. It is a character who mostly proceeds towards the player, but occasionally jumps in a particular specified direction. I have the "Skip if cannot move" checkbox enabled, and this seems to work fine for all of the other behavior in the move route, as the character knows not to walk through walls or other non-traversable terrain. Unfortunately, the jumping behavior doesn't seem bound by the tile passage settings; they will jump directly onto tiles that shouldn't be accessible.

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks!

Do they jump at random or is it part of an ordered moveroute?

Jumping temporarily sets "through ON" for the event/character using it in order to get to the designated spot. You'll need a plugin to keep this from happening, though it's not guaranteed it will depending on how you're using jump. Check out Yanfly's plugin: http://www.yanfly.moe/wiki/Region_Restrictions_(YEP)

@JGreene That is a Javascript plugin for MV and Ace is in Ruby, so it will not work.

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like this functionality can't work in VX Ace.

it can work - you just need it as a ruby-script for Ace instead of a javascript plugin for MV.

I can't tell you if a script like that exist, but most functions were available by script once (the master script list for Ace once contained more than a thousand scripts, but a lot of the links no longer work).

Have you thought of using regions to help out here? You can (using a script) designate which region(s) an event can move in. Galv's Move Route Extras script might be of help here.

As this cannot be done by the editor but will require a script...

Tiny setback. Turns out my Title Screen image and one of my primary background & avatar images are AI Generated. Glad I went back and checked all my resource links. So I am in hot pursuit of replacement images. Which is fine since I was still missing some images that I need anyway.
