OK, so in one of my projects, I have two on-screen encounters, but I want them to act like this (below), how would I achieve this?
The first one moves much like a Dr. Who Weeping Angel, where it can move, but only if you don't make eye contact. It cannot move when eye contact with the player is made.
And the second is kind of the opposite, where it basically wonders at random, but the moment the player makes eye contact, it will basically charge at the player.

How are you defining "eye contact" in this case?

@Trihan As in the event and the player are facing each other.

Okay, so a direct straight line without a cone LoS or anything. That simplifies things.

What range are you thinking in terms of tiles? 3-4 maybe? Or like right next to it?

Due to map sizes, around 10 tiles max

So the event would be able to "see" you from 10 tiles away?

@Ebanyle

So for the one who rushes, I would do something like this?

EDIT: It works for the rushing one if I put the script as a conditional branch. Just got to event a test for the other.

Ah okay, I was doing a native script solution for you, but if that works I won't have to. XD

Hmm, I think it's something like this! Going by the demo Vlue himself made, the setup would look like this:
Though I would recommend using a waaaaaaaay bigger value than 10.

@Ebanyle Thanks, I'll give that version a try in the morning when I have more time to work on the PC.

That worked! Thanks!

Hey everyone, we know that the edit bar is missing. We're working on it. You can talk about it in the announcement here: https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/forum-errors-missing-edit-bar-etc.132715/
So, explain why we can no longer use BBC code or smilies in our posts? This sparks much sadness...
Are we now stuck with WYSIWYG ? I cannot revert back my posts to good old raw text ?
I'm wondering if I may be putting too many things into one map. A story, within a story, within a story . . . it's fun, but I can't shake the feeling that it may be better to scrap some of it, and use it for another map. I'm not sure what to do.
