Event not working?

Hello everyone, I have an event that's not working for some reason, in the beginning of the script, your character is suppose to move on his own to this counter and everything proceeds on from there but since the character does not do that, none of the script plays. I checked the room for any other playing events and no other event had auto run, wait, or even commands at all, this is the only event in the room.

I apologize in advance for the length but if you could review it and comment on whats wrong, I would be eternally grateful! :)
 

The script is in the images attached to this post, I'm three photos short because it was too big of a file, so I will post them below.

and FYI EV011 is the main characters sprite in damaged form.

A couple of things ...


Unless you have turned Walking Animation OFF on the player previously, you don't need to turn it on in a move route. It's already on.


You don't need to do a Turn in direction before a Move in direction. The character (or player) will turn the correct way.


Your wait between turning and moving and between each step will result in quite jerky movement. I suggest you get rid of all the waits unless you REALLY want them to pause as part of the cutscene.


Now ... what DOES happen? Nothing at all? Or does a little bit of the event happen but then the character gets stuck? If that's the case, an event or player is probably trying to move onto a tile that they can't move onto. If nothing happens at all, I'm guessing page 2 of that event is the active one (does it have any conditions? Are its conditions met?) The HIGHEST numbered page whose conditions are met (including one with no conditions) is the one that will be active.

I think the second page was actually the problem with this, I copied a couple commands onto it and forgot to delete it, i'm testing it right now to check. (I will edit if it does or doesn't work.)

And thanks for the advice, deleting all that stuff makes the page soo much shorter, lol.

EDIT: It did not work and to answer your other question, nothing happens at all, I just walk into the pub and can walk around anywhere. Also on another note, the main characters body that is suppose to be invisible is clearly visible.

Okay, figured out what it was, the character moved one block farther then he was suppose to, thanks for the help!

If your event is running, you should not be able to walk around anywhere.  Autorun blocks player movement, so if you can walk around anywhere, your autorun event is not running (usually because it has multiple pages, and a page other than the autorun one is active).

Changing an issue where your character walks one space more than they should would not fix a problem where an autorun event wasn't running (unless it had to do with a touch event turning on a switch, and your autorun being conditioned by that switch, which is not the case here).

Are you SURE it's working properly now?

Positive because the place where the character was moving to was in the spot of another event character.

It still should not have let you walk around anywhere (via the arrow keys, which is what I assumed you meant).  Unless you meant that was happening while you still had that second event page there - I'd expect it then, depending on the trigger on that second page.

Anyways, since you're happy it's solved ...

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
