Hello! I'm having some trouble with an event's movement.
The idea is that the event is a character and she's looking for a book in a library. I set her move route to basically just be moving from side to side, turning upwards towards the bookcases, and waiting for a bit before moving again.

The problem is that when I actually play test the game and see the event in action, she takes these weird half second pauses between movements, which makes it looks a bit weird. I tried changing the speed but she pauses anyway.

I appreciate any help I can get :)

You forgot to change the frequency - that is why that setting exists in the move area.

NPCs (which are one big reason for the events) would look unnatural if they were continuously running through the village.
so you can set the move route they should use, the speed for how fast they move one tile and the frequency for how often they move.

EDIT: And please don't cut event windows - very often (as here for example) the problem and solution is outside the parts of where the developer thinks it is...

Ah! Thank you very much, that fixed it :)

I apologize, that makes sense, I'll keep this in mind for next time.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
