Event priority over other events

I'm trying to make a parallel event take priority (when conditions are met) over an autorun event.....

The autorun event has a higher ID number, so afaik it should lower priority.

Both events should show some text windows...however, what happens is that the parallel event begins (sound effects) but then the only text showing is from the autorun event.

So it seems like the parallel event is activating but the autorun event is taking priority when it comes to showing text. Why is that?

I would like to have the parallel event run first (with all its text windows etc) and only when its over, the autorun event can begin. How do I achieve that?

You will have to use a different condition for the autorun, because autorun events will always be triggered before parallel events.

Why don't you use a switch at the end of the parallel event (there should be one to turn it off anyway right?) as a starting condition for the autorun one?
