Event starting another event

I'm sure the answer is easy but basicly i'm wanting it where you spawn in and a npc across the room

will talk to you, Ive been trying to look that up but i couldent find any thing, Thanks :)

I think what you mean is if you get transferred to a map? or spawn in the beginning? Either way, I think your best bet is to run the NPC event as autorun and then do whatever you want it to do. In the end, make it switch on X switch. Make a second blank page and set a switch condition to X Switch.

...I'm bad at explaining stuff so I hope it shed SOME light. And this is coming from self learning experience.

Sorta helped but i'm needing another event start the npc event, Basicly i'm wanting you to move off the bed onto the floor with a invisable event and start another event, Thanks though.

Use an autorun event that does a Set Move Route on the NPC you want to move towards you. Turn it off after everything's happened that you need to happen, by turning on a self switch and adding an extra page conditioned by that self switch, with no graphic, and Action Button trigger.

Shaz, When i use the auto run event on my npc it just turns the npc invisable, and does not let my character move, I knew about the self event all ready as well :)

(Self event A Erase event)

We can't help you if we can't see what you're doing, and unfortunately, when people tell us "how" they're doing things, they often leave out crucial information.


Can you post screenshots of your relevant events, showing the WHOLE event window (tabs, conditions, commands)?

Update: I managed to get the auto run thing to work (Thank you to all helped me with that) But why i actully started this is wondering how would i get 1 event (If i'm to step on a event) Start another event thats like across the map? i'm needing something like that a ton of times in my map becuase there are some areas where i need to fight guards to unlock something (And the guards are npcs) Sorry for the confusion and the auto run thing did infact help me, Thank you :) .

Switches.


Switches can activate other events. Or well, any number of conditions can activate events, but switches are the most used method.

I did infact read the link but its wanting to be off when it starts out and when i hit the switch it turns on (Which i want the other way around)

Why do you want it to start out with the switch on? Why not just have an event page with no conditions, and then turn the switch on and add another page when the event is done?


I'd really like to take a look at your event - it sounds like you're trying to do things the hard way.

save it to photobucket or similar, then use the image code to link it to your post.

No - you need to capture the WHOLE event window. There is information I need to see that you do not have in your little segments.


This is why I said this:

It seems like you're trying to make the npc give them 200g? If you make a new event with no graphic, and put it where the actor "has" to walk(event/player touch) and just have it do Activate Switch 1: Give Gold. Then have your other event the npc with his list of conditions to only trigger when Switch 1: Give Gold is on. He will do whatever you have setup. Just make sure that you use the extra page event to get rid of the events with the self switch method when you are done with them.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
