Event starting another event

No, I want the player to go to the potions (money and mana potions) and for the potions to disapear when the player activates the event below it.

I finally got to get it working BUT now for some odd reason i would need to activate the event twice before it disapears

(Start the event "You got potion" Potion stays there and activate it again and the potion vanishs) If there is a fix for that one that'll be great.

Can you give us a screenshot of what you did that 'works' but does it twice?

I think what everyone else is trying to show you is set up two events, one to control the character via move route, to reach the potions (and at the end have a switch called 'item disappear' that switches to on), and the event using the potion graphic which has a blank second page (where you have the second page on condition that the 'item disappear' switch is ON). You could even add a sound effect in a page on the second page (that goes 'poof' or something) and sets the self switch A to on moving it to a third blank page (maybe even an animation like a puff of smoke).

Here is how I cadged one together to see for myself.

Look at the top tab as you view each picture; I've numbered them Potion Event 1-5 for the event tab order, but when I uploaded it is in a different presentation order.

I set up two events, one for the potion, one for the movement of the player. I use a switch in the movement event to activate the potion event (making it disappear.) Notice there is no events on the first page of the potion event, while the second page (which is activated when the Switch is on) shows a small animation and SE before activating a self-switch to change to the third page, which is also blank, so it won't happen again.

Voy, I kinda have that right now but its wanting me to hit the action button twice on the movement event before it disapeares, I can show you a picture of the new set up

You're doing some very unnecessary things.


Firstly, remove all those 'bottom' events you have set up in front of the other events (the items); those are useless. The player does not need to always stand on an event to activate it. Simply set those items as 'same as character', then you can activate it just by standing next to it and pressing the action button.


Secondly, turning on a self switch, which switches to a page that ... turns on another switch, is pretty redundant too. Why are you not turning that switch on instead of the self switch?

Does anyone else notice that he has action button as the trigger for most of his event pages?

Is that intentional Thal? If you want the play to simply activate the initial event by stepping on it, change the trigger to player touch and have it set to "below character", other, Celianna is right, if you want it to be action button you have to set to "same as character".

BTW, I added the link to the screenshots of my version of Thal's event. The link is in my post above (where I previously had <> telling you that the URL was forthcoming).

Wow, I'm very sorry i did not read that sooner : \ I think ive learned some very importent things from this and it did infact simpify it alot, I got rid of the two events and did the one event and added same as characters and it worked like a charm, I must thank all the people that helped me through this process as well. And throughout this hole thing i found out about how to use switches as well. Thank you and good night :)

(Also  celianna, Where would i be able to get a bomb icon, (Or icons in general) I'm needing icons)

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
