I have a couple of simple (I thought) events that would trigger when a player walks over a specific tile. I just want dialogue to pop up, then have a second one that gives a choice of whether to be teleported.

I thought it would be a simple Player Touch/Below Player activation, but nothing I am doing is getting either the dialogue event to trigger or the transfer after it. Any thoughts on what I am not getting?

Your page will never run set as that, as you have it set to only run when Self Switch A is on, which you turn on in the event (which is impossible to meet).

Also note if your page 2 has no conditions that will run instead. The engine uses the higher numbered page which is valid.

Well, your first page will only run if "self switch A" is ON. By default, self switch A is OFF.

Awesome. I had read that was a way to get it to not repeat on another step. But when I removed those, you're absolutely right, it worked. So thank you!

I also had no clue about the higher page getting priority. So that's good to know ;)

Is there a way to make it so that it never triggers again after the first time?

Yep. That's where you use the self switch. At the end of the event:

    Self switch A, ON

    Then on Page 2:
-Runs if Self Switch A is ON (check the box for that)
-Put no events here. Nothing. Then it will not run again.
