Hey,

So I have been using Celianna's Farm tiles time system and I could not find a way to make the weather react to the season's. So I was wondering if there is a way to make an evented weather system that makes the weather change depending of the season and I was also wondering if it is possible to do it with pictures instead of the original weather selections.

If you save the seasons in a variable then on the weather event, you could just check that variable to determine what season it is and play the correct weather

I was also wondering if it is possible to do it with pictures instead of the original weather selections.
Totally possible

Thanks for the help with the weather changing, but how exactly would you be able to make the images move like rain or snow?

Edit: How would you be able to animate the images be like real rain or snow falling?

You do it manually... like have a parallel process event, show picture 1, wait X frames, change picture 1 to 2 and so on...

I've actually had animated water/snow as pictures.

Basically I used two pictures of snow. They had to be tile-able so that it could repeat across the screen. One picture had larger sized snow flakes, and the other had smaller ones. Using these two pictures, I made them move in a zig-zag way across the screen (each going a different way), and then when it reached the end of the screen, simply reset it back to the top and continue repeating.

I did the same for rain. One picture had large white stripes, the other smaller ones. I made them move down at different speeds.

Here's a video showing it in action:

oh before I forget, try to look for BustedEd's tutorial demo... he has event samples for "Weather" effects.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
