Hi Everyone,

I am new here and have been trying vxace for last 2 days.

I am making an attempt to make a game with oldschool story of hero and battle to save the realm etc(no specific story line or world conception yet)

I thought i will use the basic Resources on with the software, I am stuck on events, I am still not able to get a grasp of the event system

What i was trying to do is make a NPC appear through the door of a house after my player has done his beginning dialogue (I use Khas Pathfinder script)

I created an event which auto runs and made the event transparent so while the player is walking to the location the npc is not visible but I am lost on how to make the NPC reappear after the dialogue

FYI i am new on this (in case you haven't noticed)

It would help a lot if anyone can explain the logic or pass me any links that will help me on this.

Thanks

General Discussion is about the principles of game making, not "How do I...?"  That sort of question belongs in the Support forum for the engine you are using.

I've moved this thread to RPGMaker VXAce. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

In addition - I thought from your topic title that this was an Introduction post that had wandered into the wrong forum.  It tells us nothing about the nature of your question.  Please edit that title as a matter of urgency, otherwise people may ignore it, thinking the same thing I did.  A short, descriptive topic title is a great help to people so that they know immediately the sort of thing you are looking for.  It also helps other people in the future if they are looking for the answer to a similar question.

You will save yourself a lot of time and frustration in the long run if you spend a bit of time now with Andar's compilation of info for new users.  In particular, look for the link to Dreadshadow's playable tutorial on Event Commands.  Work through that and you will have a solid foundation for all your events.

As for your immediate question - why not turn transparent off?

I suggest you follow the link to the starting point in my signature and work through the tutorials listed there, that will be the fastest way to get to the basics.

Most probably you'll need switches and/or variables (that is the solution of almost anything more complex), and those can't be explained with a few sentences.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
