I have one event that I need to happen. It has to be in several places to make sure it happens. How do I turn off the others so that it doesn't occur when the player walks over them?

exactly as you assumed: you give each event the same two pages, the first where that event happens and the second for doing nothing after. The second page needs to be conditioned to a switch for this )NOTa self-switch), and the first page needs to end with a control switch on for all events.

there are 2 ways to accomplish it.

if it's an autorun event, use a selfswitch + scriptcall to the others,
the other way which is easier, is to use a switch.

if 1 event is happening and can be happen in 9 places, turn on a switch,
and not a selfswitch, and turn the other one ON, and blank page, so all
events with that switch as trigger stops.

I need a visual :p
If you really need visuals for a single command and one empty page, then I strongly suggest you pause your gamework and work through the basic tutorials first.

but here you go:

Then you haven't done it properly. Please show screenshots of your events - at least two events, and all pages on both of them.

Do you want one event to switch to another event?
Or do you just want event(s) to stop working when interacting with one or two events?
On the first page, delete the Control Switches command, and add the command; Control Self Switch A ON
And on the second page of your second screenshot, unmark the Switch "0003", and mark Self Switch, and choose A, instead.
If you want one event to start several other events, then you can skip my post

Okay, then "Self Switch" is the solution. Not "Switch". Follow the procedure in my previous post. Just let me know if you understand the procedure or if I did not. If not, I'll help you out, no worries.
you completely missed what he wrote - he NEEDS the switch, the self-switch is the wrong way to go as we told him several posts above.

You didn't do the correct switch command.
the switch needs to be set ON - you wrongly set it to off

You copied what Andar gave you incorrectly. On page 1, you're turning your switch OFF instead of ON. If you never turn it on, obviously the page 2 condition on all of the events will never be met. Change that command and it should all work.

That will not accomplish what he's asking to do. Not to sound mean, but did you read the rest of the thread? :guffaw:

To be fair, I personally would create these events using the JavaScript call to set the self-switches on all of the events so that I'm not cluttering up my global switches with it. I absolutely understand why you don't want to introduce that notion when the OP is having problems with very basic functionality, but it's not, like, the wrong idea to have

Calma, "brothers". I know I misunderstood the part and excuse me for not having a chance to edit my post before anyone started to read it and used laughing emojis as a rude gesture and then pretend to be innocent when confronted.

No need to be accusing me of anything. You saw me use multiple emojis in my post - I said I wasn't saying it to be mean, but as an expression of incredulity.

Try not to be so sensitive, especially when people are telling you with both words and icons what emotions they're conveying - as a general rule, posters here are not mean-spirited and don't use double-talk sarcastic nonsense. You're assuming ill-will on my part when there was none and I told you so.

Personally, I am kind of overly sensitive, to be honest. But it's okay, no harm done. Hugs.
