Hey guys. I am new to the site and currently working on two projects.
Here is my second question ( If this the wrong forum I sincerely apologize )
I am a noob and really embarrassed about not knowing this.  :headshake:

Okay, I am working with events and can not figure out to change the event of the npc's after a another event is over.
For example: the Kings first event, he says
" please help us and rid us of these fiends "

after I remove the fiends and save their Kingdom, I go back to the king and he says the same thing again.
How do I change what he says to something like
" Oh thank you for saving us and removing those nasty fiends"
after finishing that quest?

This is the problem I am struggling with.  ;_;   If it involves scripting boy am I in trouble :p
I am using a tutorial but cant find where it explains this.
If this dont make sense I'll try to be more clearer on my problem.

That is basic eventing - you need to use switches and multiple event pages for that.

I suggest that you follow the link in my signature and work through the tutorials linked there, especially the basic tutorials and the variables guide. You can't complete any decent game without the knowledge learned from there, it's too important for any form of sequences in the game.

Also, please refrain from using fancy formats, especially including the colors blue or red as those are reserved for moderator actions. This is a working forum and most members don't want to struggle through difficult formatting when using their free time to help others. I removed the colors from your post.

Lockhart71, try practicing with "Self-Switches" and "Control Switches".

You need to add a "Control Switch" command after you defeat the fiends.

You also need to add a "Condition" in the king's event that checks if that particular "Switch" is ON.

Thanks Susan. I will study more and try harder. The tutorials are helping but I dont think Im as smart as I thought I was. :)

I took your advice and practicing now. This is the only problem I was having otherwise the game runs great. I think I'm gonna find a partner

on this project.  Once again ty. ( sorry too for my continuous mess up's. in my posts )

Feel free to PM with your query, if you need more information.

As this is a basic eventing question, I don't think it'll be a problem if we discuss it off the thread.

And don't feel bad about things. Everyone was a newbie once, and everyone starts somewhere.

Lockhart71, please avoid double posting, as it is against the forum rules. You can review our forum rules here. Thank you.

If you want to reply to several people at once, you can just type @ followed by their name, without quoting them (really, unless they posted half a page ago, which is not the case here, people will remember what they said, or be able to scroll up a bit to see). If you MUST quote several posts, there's a Multiquote button on each post - just hit that on each one you want to reply to, then click Reply to Selected Posts when you've got them all.

And I don't think you need to find a partner - I think you need to follow Andar's advice and read the basic tutorials and look at the help file, and practice. Anybody who wants to make a team is going to want people who know how to use the engine. Maybe what you mean is a mentor, but again, looking at tutorials will give you all that too.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
