I see options to export/import graphics etc... However I am not seeing an option for export/import specific maps.

My current process: Open the project containing the maps I want. Then Copy one map, open the next project and paste it in. Rinse and repeat till all maps are copied over. I also did not see an option to select multiple maps at once.

We are using a Master file setup. Each person has their sub-project to help ensure changes are not made to the master unless approved.

I tried copying the files directly. This does not work and you run the risk over overwriting.

Final Note: I purchased on Steam and it does not like multiple copies open at once.

- Make sure you have the same tilesets in both projects.

- Click on the map name in the editor in project #1.

- [ctrl+c]

- open project #2 and [ctrl+v] with a random map (or the base node) selected.

RPG Maker is not meant for teams. It's not Visual Studio or anything alike.

The non-Steam version has no problem with multiple projects open at once. I sometimes have 3 projects open at once and no problem whatsoever. But I don't really use the Steam version a lot.

Try closing project #1 after [ctrl+c]. Maybe it works then.

Copying maps is not as easy as it might look to the uninformed.

It can only work if the tilesets of the source project and the destination project are identical, and it also has problems when the map contains events that use general variables or specific database items.

So basically, you can only copy maps between copies of the same project, NOT between different projects - or you have to edit all events again to adapt them to the new project...

This does work, but you HAVE TO overwrite an existing map - that's the key to it.

If the mapfile needs to be copied into a project version where that map does not yet exist, then open the destination project and add maps until the number of maps is the same or higher than the map number to be copied. Then close the project and copy the file, overwriting the (still empty) new map file just created with the intended map file from the source project.

Final Note: I purchased on Steam and it does not like multiple copies open at once.
You cannot start multiple copies by the steam function, but after you started the editor by steam you can right-click on the task bar icon from RM and then click the line "RPGVXAce Editor" to start another instance.

Yes map sorting+copying+derived maps and such are also on my wishlist.

Andar is right. I forgot to mention that you have to make sure that the database is also identical. This may matter to some maps. The same goes for scripts and other custom stuff like DLL files.

It will work even if you forgot to copy the tilesets first. It just looks weird and you can copy the tilesets after you copied the maps. It does not cause any problems afaik.

Thanks for the quick reply's. The start another instance solves my problem. I will also have each person use a version of the master file and then add stuff to the master file as needed.

The other person helping me is just working on maps. I am handling all connections, npcs, events and final map editing etc...

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
