Hey everyone, I was wondering if there was some map editing functionality or trick I was missing.  I originally built my world map (field) with small mountains (Tab/Layer A), and then later decided that big mountains (Tab/Layer B) looked better.  With the original tileset, I thought it looked alright with the big mountains just laid on top of the small ones, and that preventing walking through the top when I didn't want people to.  However, I've changed to a custom tileset, and now it looks like crap.

Does anyone know a way to lay down new Layer/Tab A tiles without overwriting the Layer/Tab B tiles?  I just want to go over my big mountains now and change what's under them to grass or whatever's appropriate.

Okay.  Those links don't help answer my question, but they certainly help me ask it better, so thank you!  Revised question:

Is it possible in Field Mode to edit Ground Base and/or Embellishments/Covers without removing or effecting the Layer 3 B-E tiles?

No, I don' think so.

You have to start with the bottom layer, add onto it in the A tiles, and then add the B-E tiles on top.

If you mess up on a lower layer, you have to erase what's on top to fix it. Stinks, right?

And the bottom layer changes, as you see, depending on Field or area.

But anything in the embellishment area will always be on top of the stuff on the other side.

And B-E over whatever Tile A tiles you have.

And change of the lowest layer is a complete do-over. Bleh.

RMMV

Changing the tileset after making a map usually messes up the map. If you want to use a custom tileset, you'll have to add it to the tilesets (add, not overwriting any already used tilesets) before making a map with it, and start that map with the tileset from zero.

Of course if you want to change ALL of a certain tileA in your map,

you can always move its position in the tileset, right?

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
