Know what would be cool? A software that allows us to sort database items and change their references in events at the same time.
You open it, go to, for example, weapons, and then you move your ID-1 weapon to ID 2, and that software goes through your map data and changes all the references of weapon ID 1 to weapon ID 2.
Since everything's plain text, this should be a relatively easy thing to do for an expert programmer, right? It's basically akin to a XSLT transformation or something like that, I believe. Maybe somebody feels up to the task and helps countless RPG makers with their database sorting struggles.
(I could really use that myself, but I just wanted to get the idea out there. This is not exactly a request, but maybe inspiration.)
