I just made a thread yesterday and now I'm already asking for something else... :kaoblush:

Is there any way to add a "fade" transition when changing between parallax backgrounds? I have a theory on how the code would work but I have no idea how to write it.
Basically, edit the parallax portion in either the Game_Map or Spriteset_Map script, and add a line that creates the new parallax bg behind the original one, and then the original bg will go from max. 255 transparency, fading all the way down to 0 transparency in 60 frames (one second), revealing the new parallax bg.

I hope this wouldn't be too difficult to code but I have no idea lol. Thank you:kaothx:

Can you modify the hue with eventing? If so, you could periodically change it every few frames.

It's not the hue I wish to modify. I'd like for the parallax change (like, from a sunset to a starry sky) to have a smooth fade transition. If that makes sense?

I believe parallax has limited commands, then? What if you make it a picture instead?

Indeed, it does have limited commands, which is why I'd like a script lol. I don't think you can put pictures in the background (behind tiles) without a script, either. And especially not have them behave like parallax backgrounds do :/

I have used Modern Algebra's Fix Pic script to have a picture as a background. You need to specify the z value, I used -1. You can then fade using an event command. If you want to go the extra mile, and have a really smooth transition, you could use Iavra's Animate Everything script. Be warned though, the configuration is a bit complicated.

I'm on my phone and can't do links but hopefully there's enough info there for you to find them if you're interested in them.

Does this solution allow the picture to scroll like a parallax bg?
