Hello,

While working on my project, I found it necessary to use a show picture script call, however, the picture just flashes there and it just seems weird.  Is there a way that I can fade the picture in and also out?

Thanks :)

if you want to show pictures with scripts, you can use

$game_map.screen.pictures[index].show(file_name, position, x, y, x zoom, y zoom, opacity, blend type)# position = [0] Top Left, [1] = Center# blend type = [0] Normal, [1] Add, [2] Subto show them and

$game_map.screen.pictures[n].move(position, x, y, x zoom, y zoom, opacity, blend type, wait)# position = [0] Top Left, [1] = Center# blend type = [0] Normal, [1] Add, [2] Subto move them (e.g. show them with 0 opacity and move them to 255 opacity to "fade in" the picture.)

in general I can recommend you this thread: Here

it helps me a lot. =)

If you are already using the 'show' script method, just set the 'opacity' attribute to 0, then use the 'move' script method afterward. If you don't want the picture to move, just set everything the same as in the 'move' method, except for the opacity ... set that to 255.

Code:
$game_pictures[x].move(origin, x, y, zoom_x, zoom_y, opacity, blend_type, duration)

Or you could use the show picture tab i think its on page 2 or 3 make it transparent to start then slowly bring the transparency of the picture up to fade it in. I am using rmvx ace and will test this notion when i get home and will let u know the results. Im not really sure where the tab is right now and im nowhere near my laptop to determine

If you're using events, you can call the picture with a opacity of zero, and right away use the Move Picture command to change its opacity to 255. That way, you can also choose how much time it will take for the picture to get to full opacity, and also if you want interaction only after the image has fully become opaque.

Hope this helps!
