Failed to create new project

When i try to create a new project it says that it failed. any reason as to why?

There are several possibilities, but most often one of your resources has a filename that contains illegal letters or signs.


Windows allows filenames to have letters or symbols that are forbidden in most networking devices, like spaces or other special characters, and if you use a resource with such a forbidden name, the deployment will fail.


Please check all your resources and rename them where such a case happened.

I'm having the same problem. When I click on 'New Project', it goes straight to the error. I have not messed with any files connected with the Steam folder for Ace, so I'm fairly certain none of them have 'forbidden' symbols.

@Diretooth where do you try to create the new project? (full path to directory?)


If the error happens before you can choose a path, then the program is damaged and you'll need to reinstall the program.

As it errors before I can choose a path, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Same problem.

@Diretooth: Which version of MV do you have, which language is your windows, and does your username on your computer contain non-latin letters?


And please check the logs of your firewall and antivirus program if they reported RMMV as blocked (some antivirus companies have detected false positives and blocked RMs even if there is no virus involved

I just realized I did the dumb. For some reason, my brain took 'MV' and turned it into 'Ace'. I've been posting in the wrong topic. Guess that's what happens when you stay up all night and don't sleep afterwards. Sorry.
