the file on the desktop (where i exported it to) is only a .tmp file and i can't open it?

*.tmp are the temporary files before packing is complete. They're only visible if the packing process was aborted.

I don't know if RM uses its own compression functions or the windows-function, but that one is defective.

Either reinstall the game or repair the windows function (you can test the window function by compressing the project folder directly without starting RM - the resulting archive will be without RTP files, but this way you can test where the error lies.

Also right at the end of the compression , the .exe file apears on the desktop then changed to the .tmp file ?

Gazza89, please avoid double posting, as it is against the forum rules. You can review our forum rules here. Thank you.

As I told you in the answer post #2: If the problem is with the maker/editor, then you need to reinstall that program.

Nothing else will do or help.

Oh sorry for multiple posts, and i have it on steam , i deleted the local files and reinstalled it , but still dosen't help?

Maybe a problem with the game itself?

Edit* Hmmm , does the same with any other project also... sorry for being a pest , i just don;t want to not be able to export my game.

No, the export function works correctly for everyone else (this is the first time I heard of that particular error here on the boards).

Try different settings (with or without RTP, with or without encryption and to different folders as some folders are restricted by windows) to see if that changes something.

If it doesn't change anything, then try checking what other programs you have running in the background - one of them might interfere with the compression routines.

And please give us a description on what steps you're doing in order to export the data.

Tries it with different settings (with or without RTP, with or without encryption and to different folders) still becoms a .tmp file

Nothing out of the ordinary running in the background, it has to be something i have done recently, because i have exported the game fine before.

And it even says successfully exported at the end of the compression stage.

For steps i take , it's literally just open up the project , select export, pick where to export to and click ok :/

Always those trick questions to make people really think about what they're doing :p

Unfortunately, there is no "export" option to select in Ace, it's named differently :p

All joking aside - there is a reason why I asked, because in a lot of cases people make simple mistakes by clicking on the wrong options without even knowing that they clicked wrong.

Please confirm what you're clicking on in Ace, and what windows version do you have?

Especially if the result is temporarily named as *.exe and then changes back to *.tmp as you said in post #5, it really looks like some background guard program assumes this would be a virus rename or something like that and changes it to prevent a supposed infection. So what are the background programs you've running?

Permanently disabling your antivirus program creates more problems than anything else, so I suggest you check the programs options how to set exceptions.

Then choose a folder to except the guard from and make your compressions into that folder only.

Since you know when you made a new project.exe into those folders (and move them out of there after that), there is no chance of them getting infected by a virus (if it got directly from the internet to such a specific folder, you have a whole group of different problems)...
