I've tried to deploy my game (finished the beta last night) and load locally to playtest outside the RMMV.

After exporting all files, the mouse cursor still keeps the processing task icon instead of the usual arrow (but only when pointing to RMMV screen.

Then, when clicking on the index.html file created on the target folder, I receive "Failed to load: data/actors.json" as an error.

Tested on Chrome and on the new version of the IE (never remember the name), using a full package of files (including those I don't use on my project), and a slim package (with only the files actually in use).

Click on the game app itself, not index.html.

Why? Isn't the whole purpose of the HTML deployment to be able to play the game via browser? AFAIK the html file is what the browser should access, not the game app, right?

You said you were trying to play it locally though. When you load up the html thing locally (ie not in a browser, ie not hosted) it won't load the necessary files, one of the first of which is Actors. Yes, it will load an html page but that html page is pretty much just "index".

So, in order to test it properly, I'll need to upload the game to a webhoster first? I can upload it to the web, but I've thought I could test it on my computer directly before doing that.

Yeah.

There are ways to do it locally, but I delve in the realm of more complex ways to do this than the simple way you need. Someone else will be better disposed to advise on this.

Ok, considering this, I deem this thread closed since my question was answered.

Thanks, EternalShadow.

Hi I just wanted to add my two cents in, Chrome has some kind of fail to load error. I've found that on v1.1 the web browser deployment  works locally on Edge now and then. However it will work on Firefox.

This thread is well over 3 years old, and it is most unlikely that your issue has exactly the same cause(s) as that of the OP.

I suggest you start a new thread, setting out the precise details of your problem.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
