Failed to load doodads.json

I'm just trying to test the game locally and have used yanfly plug ins.  I hit the test button and this is the error i receive.  i dont know if this is the right place to post as this is my first support question. But any help would be great as i can test anything.

We have a support section for troubles with Plugins. I'll move this there. Plugin Releases is for posting plugins you've created.

this most likely means that you configured the plugins wrong - or didn't configure them at all.


Very often you can't use plugins "as is", they require you to give them specific data before they can work. In this case, one of the plugins is looking for a file that does not exist by default - you either have to have copied it from somewhere or have to have created it according to the plugin instruction for that plugin to work.


Please give a link to that plugins website, and upload your version of that doodads.json (if you created it), and we can help you find out which step you missed.

You're using Yanfly's recent Doodads plugin found here: http://yanfly.moe/2016/09/17/yep-116-grid-free-doodads-rpg-maker-mv/


First, look at the project file, is the doodads.json that is part of the plugin and thus required in the folder? If it is, then examine your settings in the plugin screen of RMMV. If you're testing the game after exporting it, check the exported folder. Is the .json there? If not, copy it to that folder and test the game.

I believe you actually need to copy the doodads.json file into your data folder at the same time as you add the plugin.  Did you do that?
