They make Fakemon by taking DNA, or Genes and combining them with a normal Pokemon. Over time the pokemon begin to transform and turn into a new creature.
Sadly this process is very painful to the pokemon and the sometimes unlucky ones do not make it through the process.
A group called the PRG (Pokemon Rights Group) Headed by the Rich, and Retired Fashion Model Liza, Despises the way pokemon are being treated and detest Fakemon enough to begin stealing peoples Pokemon, and eradicating Fakemon.
They claim creatures such as Fakemon don't deserve to be on the planet, and that Humanity does not deserve pokemon anymore.
Liza believes she is sort of the voice of the pokemon, saying she speaks the will of all pokemon. Some people fail to see that Liza is just a selfish as the people she despises, she formed the PRG in efforts to save pokemon and stop the creation of the detestable Fakemon.
The PRG soon attacked the labs that created Fakemon, but by accident, they released Fakemon into the wild.
Realizing what they had done the PRG went quiet, and all of its members even Liza disappeared, as if they never existed.
Somehow, after the Fakemon escaped from the lab, they found out how to reproduce, and soon took over the Kirolan Region.
No pokemon exist in Kirolan, except for the few that live with their trainers before the accident.
Life in Kirolan seems to revolve around Fakemon, unlike all the other lands.
You begin your Fakemon journey in the small, and wooded, Cadro Town
