For every single scene and environment, I like to adjust colors on the screen. Colors that best match what's going on.
And up until now, I've been... mostly working on guesses.
- I guess a combination of color values,
- input them in after making a few clicks ; opening a few windows,
- test-run the game...
- and see if it looks good.
- It doesn't look good? So I turn off the game,
- Click a few windows again,
- adjust values by guessing again,
- Then test run the game.
...and the cycle repeats.

To save time (and not having to work by guessing) I created a color adjustment UI in the game itself. Where I can dynamically see how the color changes affect the scene, and how it looks after the effect.

(Super happy I got this made! The older method was really frustrating to work with. T_T )

At the moment, this is just for me, myself. To help with the game's development.
I may... or may not put this in the finished game for the player. Though I do think for some people, it might be helpful to adjust a few of these thing, like brightness and contrast. (For accessibility reasons.)
...I'll think on it.

Continuing to work on some tech-related aspects of the game.
Added some plugins.
Fixed some compatibility issues.
Failed at fixing some... XD

And... added shadows to the text!

What I've been up to?
1. I've been sorting my hard disks

2. Transferring all my game dev work to an external hard disk (it has vents!) so I can work on multiple devices.

and,

3. I've been exploring file explorer softwares, as working with so many CG images (for my current game) has been... slow. And today I found and settled with XYplorer on windows, that seems to make things a whole lot simpler.

What you see in this video is pretty much all of the game:

  1. The whole game is this one map.
  2. You walk around, interact with objects.
  3. There's dialogue,
  4. 3DCG Images accompanying the dialogue
  5. The story and narrative is the focus. And there's no battle.
That's it.
I'm not particularly making a 3D, or 2.5D rpg maker mv game or anything...
I'm just... making a story-focused game, and doing my best to make it visually interesting. :LZSooo:

Visually perfect with three different camera angles, boy!!! For me what really stroke was the use of the 3dcg girl movement in the second view, thats why I ask!!!
Also... are you using vroid for the third one? (I believe that question has already been asked)

We can make boys with it too. It's just harder to make them look good.
And this game will focus on just this one female character.

Finished setting up these text boxes to throw the character's thoughts on screen.

After I finish the main game, I'll be using these text boxes to add side-dialogues wherever I can. So there's always something to read.

Fascinating thread / project. One of the most focused yet ambitious RM projects I’ve ever come across. Keep up the great work!

Slow fade out that ends the game...

It feels SO satisfying, to have reached this far. (T﹏T)

This is me just 'touching' the ending scene.

  • Have to make alternate endings...
  • and routes...
  • and polish everything
  • and do sound design...
and... yeah, haha. There's lots to do. But with just touching the main ending, I feel... so satisfied and happy.

And to clarify, this is not False Server's ending.

What I'm working on right now with this 3D thing, is False Spaces.

It's a short game that will be (optionally) playable inside False Server. And delves into an important back-story for Succour's character.

I will first release False Spaces as a standalone game, once its completed. (So there will a separate game page for it.) After you play it, and I make sure there are no bugs left. I will add False Spaces inside False Server.

On the "things im remaking" department even i kept getting confused by my status grenades similarity so i decided to redo both of them, now the icons and being thrown animations are very distinctive from each other :kaopride:

I genuinely like the default MZ actor sprites, and the character creator. I think I will draw new headshots for them, but part of me doesn't want to replace the default sprites. But should I? I want to eventually release my game.
Someday, I hope they make a game where 95% of the animation budget went to turning valves and opening door animations, leaving every other animation looking like a CDI zelda cutscene.
