Hey everyone,

I've been using RMMV occasionally since it was released.

I was using the program last night. I had forgotten my charger so my laptop suddenly shut down.

Today when I came to my computer with the (with the application still up) the window was empty and white.

I closed it and reopened the program it gives the splash screen but It gives me an error saying  RMMV cant run because I don't have Faultrep.dll

I do have faultrep.dll in my windows system file. so i don't know what it's talking about I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it.

It gives me the same error.

It gives me a RAM error too.

I tried shutting down and restarting too. Nothing...

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thanks fellas

there are only two possibilities about that, especially with the second message:

Either you have a software that blocks RMMV from accessing memory data (that happens for example if your antivirus or a similiar program falsely assumes the editor is a virus), or you have a hardware problem with your memory (not neccessarily a defect, but again something preventing the access to the stored data).

One question: how is your computer connected to power and how do you switch it on? More specifically, do you have a main power switch that you use to switch off and on power to several devices (like your monitor and your computer) before pressing the Power ON on your computer?

Thanks for the reply,

Actually....now that I think about it I updated my Adaware the same day that I put it in hibernate and left the power cable.

It's a laptop. I bring it all over and plug it in to the wall.

I updated RMMV to the newest version and my Adaware as well. (so it could be the updated adaware. if that's the case others should have this trouble too i'd assume. I'll have to look into how to excuse RMMV from Adaware.)

I was busy that day so when I packed up I closed the computer and threw it in my bag and went home But forgot the power cable. The next day I opened it up and woke it from hibernate. I didn't have time to use RMMV. The battery was low and got to 10% and the computer shut itself off. ( the laptop is 5 years old or so but still quite good. 4gb ram i5)

The next day I got the cable and plugged in my laptop. Powered it on and RMMV was stuck at a white screen. I closed it and reopened it to find this error.

I uninstalled RMMV and reinstalled the newest version. It didn't help.

I reset the computer again too. That didn't help.

I copied the DLL into the same directory as RMMV (like RM2K Harmony.dll error) it didn't help.

That's where I am thus far. I'm going to try to take a look at adaware. Since you mentioned the antivirus blocking it, this seems to be the most likely case.

Thanks :D

**UPDATE**

I disabled Adaware's "real time protection" and "web companion". Same errors. Might I have to uninstall Adaware?

You may use some stupide software to optimise or clean you windows.
And is remove or damage some system32 dll.
Never use software not authorized or recommended by microsoft
Good luck, you can redownload your dll here, but is will not the only file you will need recover.

http://originaldll.com/file/faultrep.dll/11422.html

and this is a translate for example a adobe support   Virus or malicious program that corrupted the Windows file

Causes of the Error 0x0000000000000000
Corrupted download or incomplete installation of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom software.
Corruption of the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom registry following a recent software change, related to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom (installation or uninstallation).
Virus or malicious program that corrupted the Windows file or program files associated with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
Another program has maliciously or erroneously deleted files associated with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
Runtime Errors like "Error 0x0000000000000000" may be due to various factors, so it is important to take care of any possible causes to eliminate the problem.

my solution, Save, Format, Reinstall a clean Windows  :rock-left:
When windows registry have damaged or corrupted dll, you can take over 1 week to restore it.
Save, format and install clean, will take you some hours.

If the computer lost power completely without shutting down, or if the hibernation interrupted a shutdown, any file in windows might have been damaged - that's what the shutdown is for, to make sure that all files are closed without damage to their data.

If that happened, you'll need to find out what windows files have been damaged and how to repair them - and unfortunately in some cases, only a complete reinstall of windows can repair that error.

I DON'T suggest doing that as anything other than a final measure if nothing else solves the problem, but you might need to if all else fails.

And with the description you gave that cause has a higher probabily than a hardware failure...

(the problem with the main power switch I mentioned above can't happen with a laptop anyway because the battery filters the powerspike that might be caused by such a switch)

Hey friends,

I tried using regsvr in command line to replace the .dll

It said no such file existed though I could see it in windows and in command line dir

I'm assuming when my battery died it was writing to the dll and it damaged it.

So I decided to step back my system with a restore on the system files. This worked.

My RMMV is up and running again.

Thanks for all your support.

I hope this can help others can see this and maybe try it if they have some dll error.

Thanks a bundle friends. happy game making!

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
