Let's see.... I think these following games count as my childhood games since I played them during my elementary school days... grades K-6.

Doom 2 ...or was it 1? - PC - First game I ever played and I think I was 2nd or 3rd grade... don't really remember bit it was SOOOOOO long ago and full of so much win.

Star Wars Shadows of the Empire - N64. Didn't hear anything about this game when I saw it in a store. I ended up playing this one to death. And it is easily my favorite game of all time.

Goosebumps: Escape from Horrorland - PC - This will always be a classic. And the first time the werewolf bursts into the room you're in and scared the sh*t outta me, my brother, and our friend. The ensuing chase is one of the most vivid gaming memories I have.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - N64 - 'Nuff said.

Mario Party 1/2; Super Smash Bros.; Goldeneye 007; Mario Cart - N64 - All of these games were time wasters from me and my friends. Excellent party games and spent hours playing them.

Dragon Warrior Monsters - Game Boy Color - Played this more than the Pokemon games at the time even though I spent hours playing them... Dragon Warrior Monsters just always stands out to me.

Oh my! I almost forgot!! :headshake:

Sid Meier's Gettysburg - PC - An amazing strategy game that got me into strategy gaming in the first place. I played this more than any other game at the time and is one of the best (or most memorable) strategy games I've played.

and Midnight Rescue - PC - Oooh how much I played this game. It was very enjoyable at the time.

Games that could easily be on this list: Red Alert 2, Kessen, Fifa 98, Police Quest: SWAT 2, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six (N64), Super Mario 64, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (64), and Oregon Trail.

I first started playing video games when I was about seven and the first game I played was Ocarina of Time, for me when I think of video games from my "younger years" I can't help but to think of that one and how much fun it was. If I ever get a 3ds it would be great to replay it through the 3ds version and try and re-live the experience I had with it.

1) Lufia 3: The Legend Returns, I remember that right after I beated the game on my Gameboy Color, the game cart died.

2) Super Contra, played it with my mom all the times using cheat modes. :D

3) Blaster Master, though I played the Japanese version.

Zombies Ate my Neighbors

Sonic1-3

Shining Force 1-2

Phantasy star 2-3

Puggsy (Helped start my love of puzzles; I used to play this like no other)

Streets of Rage 1 & 3 (never got to play 2 until I hit my teens)

Bonanza Bros

Joust (Joust, oh how I loved you)

Golden Axe

Battletoads

Altered Beast

Shinobi 1 & 3

TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist (rented it more than 20 times; probably should have bought it instead)

There are a good many others, but I either didn't own the game to play it too much (Link to the Past) or I just don't remember their names anymore (One with dinosaur mercenaries). I also want to stop before I clutter the hell out of this thread with a slew of beat-em-ups.

Pokemon up to and including Emerald. After that, I became too old for it (though now I play the old ones again on an emulator on my phone :) )

Except for crystal. I didn't like crystal.

And all kinds of mario games of course.

Old dos games Jill of the Jungle was a pretty strong staple for kid me, and there were lots, I don't even fricking remember all of them it was so long ago. DOS rocked/still rocks.

Pokemon ALL OF THEM EVERY POKEMON even pokemon SNAP Pokemon Snap was boss I was little and getting used to a games controller for the first time and Pokemon Snap was at just the right pace to teach an 8 year old how to use the controller and where everything is and pass the knowledge onto harder games omg. Yellow was cool, Crystal was 100% cool I could play as a girl A HUNDRED PERCENT COOL.

I like to pretend Earthbound was my favorite childhood game, but I never played it til I was 18? Haha. But I was really into Ristar and Shinobi and some other Game Gear titles when I was a kid. Pokemon was most likely my first RPG, but I can't really remember for sure...

Most of my childhood experience with gaming was being stuck at the local jackass' house watching -them- play, but I busted ass and saved up to get some of my own lucked out a few times with gifts and game rental was prolly the only reason I played more than, like, 10. :3 Lengthy RPGs were a real commodity in those circumstances.

My favorites:

Castlevania 1, 2 and 3

Phantasy Star 2 and 3 (4 came out when I was a teenager, lol)

Dragon Warrior 3 and 4

Strider

River City Ransom

and thanks to scraping the bargain bin:

Crystalis - Oh my Godess, get this music stuck in your head!

Faxanadu - Like Zelda 2 on drugs

Clash at Demonhead - This game was drugs

Destiny of an Emperor - Three Kingdoms RPG on NES, lol

Rolling Thunder - Kinda Rally Vincent and some dude vs. Sentai enemies in cover-based Shinobi action

Golgo 13 - Golgo is an incredible badass in a couple NES games that were bad in a weird relaxing kind of way

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
