@rux, so, basically, a battle royale-esque game that is simple, chaotic, and fun?

RPGs, particularly of the J variety. Strategy a close second.

RPGs, but in many forms for many reasons -- JRPGs (duhhhh), action-RPGs, strategy-RPGs, platformer-RPGs like the Igarashi Castlevanias, and even FPS-RPGs like Bethesda's Fallouts. In all these games, I prefer characters or parties with some customization: classes, equipment, abilities, and so forth. I have a love-hate relationship with Wizardry-esque blobbers / dungeon crawlers, so stuff to keep it fresh helps.

My second-fave are probably fighting games these days, but I'm a casual player. Soul Calibur and Mortal Kombat are my go-to series, but I wanna get into Darkstalkers and the new Killer Instinct. I used to really like platformers growing up too.

@Mystic_Enigma, yes! I love strategy, action, and puzzle games! May I recommend Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity if you like strategy and action games?

Let's see...

Turn-Based RPGs.
I love them. You know, stuff like Dragon Quest. Mostly JRPGs in that sense.
But also stuff like Divinity Original Sin, Steamworld Quest, Heroes of Might and Magic or Kings Bounty

Regular RPGs (Real-Time).
Also love them, not as much though.
Stuff like Diablo II, Titan Quest and Grim Dawn.
Not a big fan of open-world games like Witcher, Skyrim etc. Except Dragon Age, thats fine.

Turn-Based Strategy games.
Probably my favourite genre of games, or atleast tied with Turn-Based RPGs.
Most of them have RPG as a sub-genre anyways.
Some of my favourite games include, but are not limited to; Darkest Dungeon, the XCOM series, Into the Breach, Steamworld Heist.

Real-Time Strategy games.
Also love them, not as much as Turn-based RPG and Strategy games though.
Things like Warcraft III, Age of Empires, Empire Earth, Warhammer 40k, Factorio, They are Billions

Ego-Shooter.
I'm very picky when it comes to Ego-Shooter. Most of them don't really speak to me.
Especially "modern shooters" I don't like (things like CoD, Battlefield and Counter Strike)
I do love things like Half-Life, System Shock and Left 4 Dead though.

Chill games.
Yes, I am talking to you, Factorio and Stardew Valley.

Things I don't generally like (obviously there are exceptions to these):
- Open-World games (semi-open world I can tolerate, like Dragon Quest)
- Point and Click adventures
- Horror games (except Phasmophobia thats kinda fun tbh)
- Sport games of any kind
- Pure Story games (Life is strange, Telltale games etc. -> Love watching them though)
- Simulator games
- Many puzzle games (There are exceptions like the Portal Series or C.U.B.E.)

@ScorchedGround, I do love strategy games! There's something just, so... satisfying about finding the perfect strategy to get through a part.

I am a sucker for open-world RPGs. I gained access to a PS4 for part of the year and ended up playing
Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost of Tsushima, Marvel's Spider-Man, and Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Also big into turn-based games and devoured Gears Tactics, Wasteland 3, Battle Chasers: Nightwar, and Corruption 2029. How I had the time to play those and several others this year while raising a family and being employed full-time, I'll never tell.

The more capable thing to do in the game, the more I like it. Like Skyrim, create your own character, buy a house, get married, make your own weapon. Or maybe like Sleeping Dog, you can take a piss (?). I was wondering if there's any RPG game but also have al the features in The Sims XD even an adventurer need to eat and sleep, and cheating with other woman in other city XD

Oldschool turn-based jRPGs, Action-ish jRPGs, tactical jRPGs, MMORPGs, horror games of most any type but mainly survival or arcade-like horror games, Tycoon and Simulation games, Visual Novel games where dating/romance is not the only thing to it, Narrative adventure games, Text adventure/RPGs. These are probably my most played game types, although I enjoy pretty much every genre to some degree except most sports games are nope.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
