So tell me what are some of your favorite old RPG's like from the Playstation 1 and Playstation 2 or other old systems. :)

Mine are Legend of Dragoon, Grandia, The Wild Arms series, and Chrono Cross. :)

Its hard to say really.

In terms of Fun It was definetly have to be Tales of Symphonia, FF9, Chrono Trigger for my favourite games.

However for sheer amount of time put into certain games those would be FF9, FF7 and 7th Saga.

Chrono Trigger is my favorite, with Final Fantasy 6, Final Fantasy 4, Breath of Fire 2 and Lufia 2... Those are my favorites.

Legend of Dragoon.... I hated. Mostly because it came out the same year as Final Fantasy 9 and was terrible in comparison. (Legend of Legaia was way better and came out same year as Final Fantasy 7). But I'm glad someone enjoyed it. Lots of people did (hence the popularity). I just couldn't get past the terrible voice acting, horribly cliche storyline, and the whole "Power Rangers with Wings" theme it stuck with. That and Dart's total obliviousness to the girl liking him... TOTALLY OBLIVIOUS!!

And Playstation 1 and 2 are old RPGs now? *Feels Old*

Dragon Warrior/Quest IV is probably my favorite game ever. I'm not even going to try to say that it is objectively as good as some other games, but the nostalgia associated with it for me is huge.

Dragon Warrior I was the first RPG I ever played. Dragon Warrior IV is the game that made RPGs my favorite genre.

Never got a chance to get into Dragon Warrior until the DS remakes happened, and I can definitely appreciate how they contributed to the RPG genre as a whole. (Dragon Quest IV is totally awesome to play.)

Well it's no surprise to see Legend of Dragoon getting some hate, However, I love Legend of Legaia, I went out of my way to play Legaia 2: Duel Sagas though and was a little disappointed, I liked using Seru XD

Hard for me to pin it down, Super Mario RPG is one of my all time favorites, I will buy that sucker up anytime I can find it. FF7 was my first FF, and FF4 and FF9 are my favorites in that series so those hold a special place in my old tyme game lore. Legend of Dragoon was awesome at the time, though I have a hard time playing it now. Crono Trigger was almost life altering it was(is) so good. I dream of making something that is a faction of that.

You have essentially just ruined my Nights this week :p , I forgot all about Lufia 2.

That is a must play for everyone..... everywhere!!, Such a fantastic storyline, was it just me who was completely caught out by Maxim and Selan gettings together?.

Also the musical score in that game is fantastic. The 2 songs played near the end (Approaching the final boss - For the Saviour) and after the climatic ending (*Sheds a tear* - "Hope") are two songs that I will never forget.

Actually if you try your best I am sure you can do that some day, RGSS3 hopefully will be easy for me to learn I want to make some scripts for my own game as well.

Yeah, I was also disappointed how 2 varied so far from 1, although I still plan on finishing it when I get to it.

Chrono Trigger is absolutely amazing. It actually got an emotional response from me through my playthrough, and now that it's available on DS, I can play through it as often as I want. One of, if not THE best RPG there is.

Wasn't it though? I loved the music in that game, and the puzzles, the combat system, the graphics, all of it! They remade it for DS and it uses the same music! Although it's more of an action RPG now, and they changed the story a bit. Still need to finish it though (The DS version that is).

I almost bought the DS version, Went so far as to place the order prior to reading the reviews but subsequently cancelled it.

The Action RPG style put me off as I wanted a clean remake of the Original with slightly updated graphics.

Worth buying though as a fan of Lufia 2?.

I recently managed to get hold of the PS1 Dual disc "Final Fantasy Chronicles" - which included FFIV and Chrono Trigger :D .

FF9 was much better than 7 in my opinion, I didn't like how Cloud went from silent Protagonist to a mouthy Emo in the Movies

LoD ist definitly one of my all time favourites, since I liked the story and the combat system. It certainly had its problems but i would definitly like a remake or a new game out of this franchise.

My favorite FF defintly is IX. I dindt play any of the final fantasies before 7, but all of them that came out after it. I loved the setting and all the unique characters. I feel like, the newer a final fantasy the more exchangable it gets. And thus more boring. Characters looking all the same emo kid style etc.

I'll let you know if it's worth it after I play more than an hour of it. So far, the music is rearranged slightly but pretty much the exact same songs from the SNES game, it has voice acting, and the action combat isn't that bad. But I can't really give a clear opinion until I get deeper into it.

Yea I got to agree with you there, newer FF games are getting bad. Last hope for me rides on FFXIII vs now, If it isnt any good im abandoning the series as they are getting to far of the good path they used to follow. Last decent game they had was FFX, still no FF will ever get better than IX cause of Vivi :|

Yea keep me updated on your progress, I may try and get a second hand copy of it if needs be.

I have to agree with FFIX being better than VII, The storyline in IX was fantastic and it has the best musical score of the lost - Dark Messenger, You're not Alone and Melodies of Life - need I say more?.
