Favorite Old RPG

I definitely enjoyed all the Final Fantasys up to until 10, I just couldn't get into 10 at all.

Legend of Legaia will always have a special place in my heart I played through the entire thing with a friend watching, we were both completely enthralled in its story it just became an activity we did together.

Of course Xenogears is another favorite of mine I never actually got to play through it all the way however Ive been buying a lot of old school RPGs on the PSP and Xenogears is currently what I'm playing. There's just to much to list

If you mean the FF music they have always used it. It's just that they have modernized it, but it still follows the same melody.

Like intro on FFXII is a melody from one of the first FF games.

10 was the last one I liked, it is slow at the start but once it gets going its awesome.

I found FFX to be a really good game just very short for my liking

Awyeah, lay on the ChronoTrigger love...

I've played through that game so many times...

First the SNES version (sadly, only available on emulator due to non-release in Europe)...

Then the Playstation version (again, only available on emulator due to PAL/NSTC differences) with its added features...

And finally the DS version, which I was able to preorder and... OMG even more added features, as well as several new areas? *Happydance*

Seriously, no other RPG has quite caught my attention to such a degree. Perhaps it's because of the complicated, creative temporal tampering or the characters themselves, or the sheer scope of the adventure, but... *Joy*

Oh man, I haven't really played many old RPGs, but I enjoyed FFI and FFII in the GBA remakes ^_^

Dragon Warrior/Quest IV is probably my favorite game ever. I'm not even going to try to say that it is objectively as good as some other games, but the nostalgia associated with it for me is huge.

Dragon Warrior I was the first RPG I ever played. Dragon Warrior IV is the game that made RPGs my favorite genre.

I almost want to agree here but I must admit I liked DW3 a little more since I love character creation games in general and you got to create your own on 3. The DQ remakes don't do the originals justice IMO.

There's so many "favorite" old school RPG's that I'll list my favorite one according to system.

NES - Dragon Warrior 3

SNES - Wizardry 5

PS1 - Suikoden 2, Final Fantasy Tactics a very close 2nd

PS2 - Suikoden 5

I also very much enjoyed many of the RPG's you guys named.

Final fantasy 3, aka best ff made ever. Super mario rpg and the lufia series oh and dungeons and dragons.
