Lol so many people be posting this stuff it's great I like this, Anyway, I am going back to the point of Necron from FF 9, FF1 and 9 have alot of similarities, Including themes, Dungeons, Bosses, and Minor plot devices, Reason for Necron being there is to Replace Garland's Chaos form from FF 1

The problem is necron has nothing to do with Garland, Necron has similarities with both Chaos and Exdeath.

Had a look through some stuff about him and the general feel is the boss was just thrown in with little thought about it.

My best game ever was Suikoden (the introduction movie here). I loved the fact that you could recruit up to 108 characters to your castle. The battleground and duel systems were innovative and pleasant to play. An other interesting thing were the unite attacks, depending who you were playing with you had an option to unleash personalized combined attacks (not limited to two characters) with a guaranteed destructive and/or impressive effect. Not to mention a continuation to Suikoden II was possible by porting a save game from around the end of the first game to the second, unlocking at some point the possibility to recruit the first game's main character.

So far there's no other game that ever gave me so much positive feelings.

I love Final Fantasy tactics, it was awesome, The battle system, Music, and Story pulled it all together for me.

Ah, the true meaning of life, discussing favorite old video games.

Well, NES would have Final Fantasy, Crystalis, both of the Zelda games, Castlevania II, Battle of Olympus, Metal Gear, Metal Gear: Snake's Revenge, Golgo 13, Bionic Commando, and all 3 Super Mario Bros

SNES would be Illusion of Gaia, Zelda: Link to the Past, Breath of Fire, Drakhen, Super Mario World, Secret of Evermore, Secret of Mana, Super Castlevania IV, and Super Mario RPG. I would have noted both Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger, but didn't get to play them as of yet. I know, what a shame.

Playstation would be both Lunar games, Alundra, Final Fantasy VII (with some reservations), Xengears (my all time favorite), Metal Gear Solid, all the Resident Evils (okay, not entirely role play, but in a ways it is), Wild Arms, and Guardian Crusade (hey, it had a pig in your party).

And PS2 would be Final Fantasy X and X-2, although I haven't played much beyond that.

While surfing youtube another game came to my mind as one of my favorites, It wasn't very advertised but it was called Threads of Fate, It was simply amazing, I loved the style of gameplay and the OST was great.

I think that game is available on PSN I was curious about it myself, never heard of it until recently surprised it snuck by me. I may have to download it on my PS3 at some point.

For the longest time I could say Chrono Trigger was my favorite RPG (or well...JRPG, Morrowind might be my favorite RPG). But I don't know, I recently revisited Suikoden II and beat it (something I had never done). And gosh if that isn't one big masterpiece of a game, even despite the god awful translation.

Others I like a lot: Earthbound, Final Fantasy VI/IX, the .hack series (more so for the story than the gameplay, even if I can admit the story probably wasn't the greatest or made the most sense I still very much enjoyed the series for whatever reason), Chrono Cross, Bahumut Lagoon, Azure Dreams, Breath of Fire III/IV, Wild Arms...

The .Hack game series was great though I preferred the G.U Series more than the "Viral" Series which comprised of Infection, Mutation, Outbreak, and Quarantine.

My Fav old RPG is Zelda: A Link to the past which is more of an action adventure rpg. I really Like Alundra on Ps1 also which in many ways is like ALTTP.

My favorite RPG would have to be Final Fantasy IV. It has everything from love, hate, betrayal, happiness, sadness, excitement, and the list goes on. It has been one of the most detailed RPGs story wise that I have played to date.

I've also bought it 4 times - 2 for SNES and 2 for Playstation.

Close games after this would be: Parasite Eve, Illusion of Gaia, and Chrono Trigger. All excellent games.

.Hack was a decent RPG yet I'm not a big fan of that style of just 3D hack and slash RPG. I really enjoyed the anime though.

Suikoden 2 is one of the best RPGs I've ever played. Suikoden 1 made me think, "Well, I can see why people liked it, but it's not that amazing." and then I played Suikoden 2 and was all "O.O <3!!!"

I only ever played the Viral series (Never got through it all)

It was however a fantastic set (Played to the 3rd).
