What are your favourite Flight Simulators and Mech games?

Mine are the following:

Flight Sim:

-F-22 ADF: I used to play this as a kid. It only features one aircraft (my personal favourite F/A-22 Raptor), but fun nonetheless.

-Ace Combat series: I have pretty much played every game in the series (exept AC6, AC Advance, AC Infinity, ACAH Legacy and AC1). They are awsome! Even Assault Horizon was kick ass (even though I really want a sequel similar to the PS2 entries).

Mech Games:

Heavy Gear 2: While I haven't play much of it, it is good. Though nowadays the game can't work without some modding.

  • Star Wars (the older space sim/flight simulators)
  • Arma

Front Mission 2, any out of the Armored Core series and Titanfall are my most favorite Mech Games. Titanfall more than anything though.

Never really liked Flight Simulators, however.

Flight sim:

Descent: Freespace: The Great War. A little old, but great plot, mechanics and handling are wonderful, and overall fun to play.

Mech:

I haven't played too many, and the only one I can think of is called Earthsiege. 'Twas an old school mech simulator. I don't even remember why I loved it but I must have logged at least 100h on that game when I was younger.

haha I remember playing Descent! That was one of the first games I ever played on the PC. I think it's a little more old and a little old though haha

The Star Wars X-Wing and Tie Fighter series were always fun, my favourite mech game would have to be Mech Warrior 3.  Playing that with a joystick is pretty darn immersive.

TIE Fighter for Flight sim

Armored Core series for the mech games (though, honestly, it feels like the original PSX series gameplay wise has never been improved on. The later games just... weren't as good)

Lives on in the FreeSpace Port project for FreeSpace Open, which is a development of the FreeSpace 2 source code.  Head on over to http://www.hard-light.net/ if your interested

as for my preferences

Flight Sim: Freespace 2

Mech: Torn between MechWarrior 4 and Shogo Mobile Armour Division

I don't really do flight sims.

I don't play many mech games either but I enjoy most of the Front Mission series, especially Front Mission 2.

Chrome Hounds anyone? 360 launch title, customizable load outs, build your own mech however you want with whatever pieces you want... Was super slow on gameplay, but I found it quite enjoyable.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
