@mlogan , @LxCharon , You saw it walk a couple of months ago (although it is now looking more fierce biting with its itsy bitsy tail curling during the bite phase) I wish I could access the old image and re-post here... Bitetest.gif I have it black lined in sprite now in correct size and Daughter cat insisted before I finish all grey wings that I had to stop and sleep. I will have to find a way to extrapolate face and back from this as well as render the other side of this bite with the tail curling on the other side (as in partly hid by the body of the tail). BTW, you can't see any scales on there because it messes with the eyes for a rough animation. I add it with shades in the end and it usually spill all my hours and days!

@bgillisp Errr... You kinda make me urging to reinstall steam now... Spriter Pro is really cool for puppetry type of animations that looks like flash simple animations. I might be interested to change style some day or use it for robots that have no muscles or joints to flex! (Yeah, the dragon above in Spriter Pro might had been made but taking longer for nothing as it would ask of me to doodle all limbs and texture them in advance plus all expressions etc. But I thought of you today to make a dancing squid in it. ;) Also, very important PM me before anything!) I think doing Daughter cat in Pixel edit thought. But Pixel Edit might be harder for you if you don't usually do by hand what you see up there with the biting Pangofly Dragon. So, 3/4 profile chars walking and side battling in static moves (not triple aerial axle with tumbling and a cartwheel on 360 degree puking around) you<d be set up with Spriter Pro especially to do your own animation effects and busts.

Progress;
Blacklining the Pangofly that is re-uploaded there and first third of a wing! (And having getting help for my ^&%&%^ keyboard!)

@bgillisp Fair enough, and I might scale it down to just one or two personal skills just so it doesn't overshadow the job system, basically like Limit Breaks or something.

Anyways, for progress, brainstormed some adjustments to the job's learned skills, some balance tweaks I could make to other skills, and some more about what enemies I want to include in the dungeons.

@Hudell - Thanks! I love what you have there for your opener. I particularly like the choice of xylophone in the music, it's light and fun. Orange Season looks like a game I would want to play!
@Amysaurus - Great work! You did a good job readjusting the legs and feet.
@bgillisp - You're right, of course. The problem is I'm still trying to figure out where I want to spend my energy. Right now I'm pretty much all over the place. At some point soon I will have to lock myself into a project and make the game start to finish, then work on peripheral concerns.
@Marquise* - That's a beautiful animation! I love how the weight stays pretty solid over the back legs. It gives it a really solid feel.

@Llareian Thank-you very much... I kinda took a liking to the pesky critter. I wouldn't try it on stop-motion thought; too hard to balance such a neck even if I can cheat with wings to keep the balance!

Oh yeah! I can post in here! I almost forgot because it was down yesterday.

I was talking to a friend about my project and her questions helped me realize that I'm nowhere near finished. In fact, I'm not even sure if I'm halfway! I'd divide it up and release it in chunks if I could, but there's no way to do it without causing more trouble than it solves. At least not without releasing all at the same time. I'm thinking of actually doing that, not everyone will be interested in an overworld pack for example.

I'm still fixing the sprites. I could have easily edited them into normal sheets, but I'm trying to keep similar tiles in the same sheet and so it's sometimes easier to make new things to fill gaps, which in turn makes everything take longer. I also made a few snowy rocks.

To be honest I'm just feeling really overwhelmed by how much there is to do when I thought it'd only take a month to finish. It's hard to remember how much progress I've made when I'm in this deep.

Got some more ideas written down, and have started the actual class development.

Other than that, a massive backlog of filing is taking up a lot of my time; I'm so tired.....

So, I did a lot of behind the scene planning for my game last month. Only spending about 6 hours total in the actual RMMV Client. I finished mapping out the plot, and found out my game is 5 Acts. This month I'll be expanding Act 1, and finishing the side quest planning involved for it as well as the minor events and npc chat. I also have a friend of mine working on the concept art for the characters, she's done a lot of drafts but she herself isn't really liking any of them so far. There's 7 playable characters in total, and a few important NPCs, she's trying to figure out how to sprite as well since I'm bad at that... so who knows how long that'll take.

So this month I'll be focusing on expanding Act 1 specifically, as well as starting to establish my database and getting plug ins to work correctly. I really wanted a good Materia-esque system that was character specific instead of on equipment, but I couldn't get one I wanted so instead I just have up to 8 different classes per character that unlocks an inventory slot. Looks messy, but it gets the job done so far.

It's nice to see this thread being so lively. Good job, everyone!

I have been relatively quiet recently since I haven't had too much time or energy to work on my game. I've been mostly working on graphics and pondering various things related to my project. I wrote about my channelled magic to the Features Feedback thread and got some valuable advice and opinions, and I've been processing the feedback I got from my demo. What has sort of baffled me is that apparently seven out of eight people who have tested the game chose the same main character (even though you can choose from four alternatives). In a way, it's funny, but it makes me wonder if there's something wrong with the other characters. >_>

My efforts in graphics have focused on working on a sideview battler template (thanks to which I finally understand what selective outlining really means and why it is bad) and drawing front and back views of the main characters. Unfortunately, I realized that my current character sprite template is so large that I would have to remake or at least zoom and edit all the chairs, beds etc. if I used it, which isn't probably worth the trouble... so I'm more or less back to square one in that regard.

Now that the exams are over, I can focus on the game. Engines, full power! :hhappy::ehappy:

Progress Report #3
Immortal Sins:
-Doing the night lighting for some interiors.
-Playing a bit with background sounds. Kinda wish I had a positional audio system in place though.
-Fixing up some odd bugs.

Batrider:
On the UWP side:
-Figuring out how to request full screen for the game (via the requestFullscreen() as MV only calls an nwjs specific fullscreen mode)
-Figuring out how to refresh the resolution when the window changes.
-Find a way to fix the keyboard lag.

I really like the idea of this thread :) It's kinda motivating seeing everyone being so busy.

After several years I've finally released a new demo of my ongoing project Numina, which you can find over here: https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/numina-demo-inside.74417/

I'm currently gathering lots of feedback from everyone willing to share it. Some people mentioned that it's a bit too text-heavy for their liking, so I'm definitely thinking about ways to loosen the more character-centric scenes a bit up. I also feared that people would be turned off by the RMXP RTP-Style but the majority of people doesn't seem to mind it that much.

At the same time I'm trying to get through Steam Greenlight. Currently the new votes stagnated, although the Yes/No-Ratio is really good... Guess all I can do is share the news all around.

@Hudell I like your title sequence a lot. Loved the dog being chased by the large chicken.
@Amysaurus Those 2 are sort of Jekyll and Hyde.
@bgillisp I like the idea of the icons for the quests. Very helpful to the player. And that's a very sound reason for not having 5 books.
@mlogan Do you think that freeCodeCamp is better than Code Academy, or just different?
@LxCharon Good luck keeping up the momentum for completion.
@Marquise* That looks exciting. It almost seems like one could jump on its back and ride off over the horizon.
@Sharm I know that feeling of being overwhelmed when thinking of all that still has to be done. That's where I find this thread so helpful - it helps me to break the overall task down into bite-sized pieces that I know I can tackle.
@Punamaagi Have you asked your testers why they didn't choose the others? It can be more revealing to ask the question that why round, rather than asking why they chose the one they did.
@AceOfAces_Mod Will you have to wait long for your results?
@Dust Welcome to the thread. You didn't actually put down any goals, which is the purpose here, rather than just sharing news about one's game.

My update:
Done a lot of mapping and eventing. I feel a bit jaded at the thought of carrying on with that, so taking some time to do some forward planning of what I'll need in the way of resources for the section after the current one. I already have the track for that location, which is a help as finding something often takes me hours and hours.

@Kes , from the exams? It will take a while (assuming the eStudy servers don't go kaput).

Continued editing the skills, working down the list, giving TP costs as appropriate and putting in their damage formulas. Also substituted out a few skills and tested their replacements. Also brainstormed some spells.

There's a snow day tomorrow, and grad homework seems fairly light, so I may have more time to keep working on the game over the weekend.

Today I set out on the journey to parallax mapping! That's the good news. The bad news is that I don't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I'm sure it'll become more enjoyable when I get better at it, but right now it feels very drawn out (slight pun intended).

Also, even though I'm pretty familiar with the RPG Maker interface, I bought the Beginning RPG Maker MV book from Apress and have started really kind of getting into the meat of it. Hopefully it'll help me streamline and punch up my eventing, as per my goal.

So, some progress! Not Moth progress, yet, though, so I'm going to keep working!

I haven't been able to work on my game as much as I wanted to so far this month. With W2 issues, getting a new ID and SSC, time with family and vacations, etc.
But I'm grateful for this too (I'm very much excited for our vacation to Gerogia and Tennessee).
Looks like I'll be pushing back development, just for a little while. :rhappy:

@mlogan Same character, different looks.
@LxCharon Nope! The charm turns red when he’s changing between his two “forms”, basically.
@bgillisp Thanks! And, yup! My art style is way different from when I first started.
@Kes Sort of, yeah!

My university work has been driving me bonkers, but I'm still trying to get some art cranked out! Here's one of my project's protagonists:

Reappearing here after a bit of recovery, congratulations for your progress everyone !

My update :

I modified some of the tiles of the Ancient dungeon tileset to fit with MV, and I drew a few more maps for planet Blodyn's forest. After this, I'll start drawing the new characters who will appear.
