Hello, some of you may know me, some of you might not know me.
(Not very popular in-terms of scripting or anything.)

However, considering it's been a long time since I've been on here and RPG Maker MV is coming out!

I'm curious on a few things I have questions for since I might be pre-ordering it tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
_______

Question 1: When I purchase RMMV, and recive the license code, will I be able to use them when I get my new Computer?
RPG Maker MV comes out October 23rd I believe, and I get my new Windows 10 Gaming PC on November 2nd.

So I'm wondering, if I get RMMV in a few days, use the license code to activate it.
Will I lose it when I get my new Computer?
Or will I be able to reactivate it on the new computer on November 2nd/or 3rd?

Question 2: Will RPG Maker MV work on Windows 10? or should I hold off?

As for question one rpg maker licenses are usually the following to my knowledge; One user on one computer at a time.

So as long as you can no longer access the original or remove the maker on the old computer and then re-download the new copy to the new computer you are fine. That is more of the store copy for steam it would be tied to your steam account so you would have to install a steam client on the other computer as well, I imagine a similar standard applies though.

As for Two; I'm making a strong assumption that yes it will work on Windows 10, to my knowledge previous versions vx and ace work on windows 10 so I don't see why MV wouldn't and I also don't think they would release a product that wouldn't work with a new upgrade to its core demographic.

Hello! Yes, MV will work fine on Windows 10, as did Ace before it. You're safe to use it :)

So when uninstalling the Maker on this PC during November 2nd, I'll probably be asked if I want to Unlink the License to this PC?

Or something like that?

Thanks for your reply~

the licenses aren't really linked per se in that way its just something you are supposed to adhere to. Granted I have a physical copy of Ace but to my knowledge there is no sort of thing. You'll probably just have to re-download it on the new pc and at most just re-enter your key, again this is under the site store for steam its tied into your steam client/account.

What happens probably depends on whether you buy from here or from Steam.

If you buy from here, you will just have to reinstall on the new computer and enter your activation key. You can have it on up to 2 computers at once. If you reinstall/reactivate it too many times, you'll hit a limit, but then it's just a matter of getting in touch with support and asking them to reset it.

If you buy from steam, it may keep track of all that for you.

Bottom line - you will not have to purchase it again.

I'd just like to point out that even if Windows 10 woudn't work (it does work anyway) you could always use retrocompatibility. So it doesn't matter ;)

Alright, thanks for the replies, I appreciate it.
I do plan on Pre-Ordering on the site because I like having both options of using it with, and without Steam.
(Not everyone wants to be on Steam all the time.)

If anything is needed, I guess I could contact the support team since it does have a Product Key option.

This is solved.
You may close this.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
