so i made a fictional language for my game, it has it's own characters that i drew and i wanted to use it in my game, where some npcs would say things in the language to the player.

i figured i'd just make a custom font and switch it over in the messages, like switching from times new roman to webdings 

but i have no idea how to do that. i've already made the font and if i don't find a solution here i'm going to go to my plan b which is use images.

but in a nut shell i want to have two fonts in one box

-i don't know how to change fonts or add in my own fonts

-i'm not good at scripting but i know the basics

-i'm a visual learner, screenshots please :)

ex:

You'll need a message system script, most of them have text codes to allow changing the font.


Since you state that you primariy use Ace, I'll move this to Ace Script Request even if you posted this in VX support - if you're looking for an VX help, please state so it can be moved again.

depends if you are using it a lot or just for a few occasions.

there are sprite fonts script out there that accept graphic as fonts. Google search for "Rgss3 Sprite Fonts".

Or if it's just a few symbols. you can just add them to your icon sheet and display them in the message using \i[number]

well i'll be using it a lot, it's a big part of the game so i'll try the former

I have an idea, I am making low polygon 3D resources for a package in itch. but it occurred to me that I could export these as images and make MV / MZ compatible tilesets. What do you think of this?
I hate seeing threads where less-experienced user's ask for an opinion of their project, and the thread is full of negative feedback by others who are clearly not the target audience. I feel bad for the OP, and I hope they understand that no game can appeal to everyone. :frown:
