I am in the planning stages of a remake of Final Fantasy Adventure on the original Gameboy. It is one of my favorite games of all time, and while an HD remaster was made, it's only available on Japanese mobile phones, and I don't have one of those. I am also aware of Sword of Mana, but as a fan of the original, it was crap. I have some experience with RPG maker, and am also slowly working on an original game, but it uses the standard battle system. This request is for an Engine that works like Final Fantasy Adventure. 

Since I'm sure many of you have not played the game, (which is really the first game in the "Secret of Mana" series in Japan), I'll elaborate.

The game is played Action RPG style, like the original zelda, but with many different weapons and magic, and experience levels. The screens are static, and scroll to the next screen when you walk off of the edge of the current screen. This can be done easily enough using XAS (xasabs.com), but it needs a few modifications for the following:



This is a screenshot of the mobile remake. I don't care as much about the display location, but the "Stamina" works differently than in XAS. It charges slowly over time, as long as you don't attack. When you attack, if it's not full, you do a normal attack, and the bar empties. When the bar fills completely, you can do a power attack. The speed the bar fills is based on a Stamina stat that can be raised as you level up. The higher your stamina, the faster the bar fills. 

Following is a description of the weapons, and what each one does:

Sword:

No special powers, side to front slash.

Power attack - While moving, you lunge forward until you hit an obstacle, then return to your original position. While stationary, you swing your sword in a complete circle around you for up to ten seconds. Once the sword starts spinning it will spin until time runs out, or you let go of the button. You can move once the sword has started spinning.

Axe:

Can cut down trees, side to front slash.

Power attack - Throws the axe, which continues until it hits an obstacle.

Sickle:

Can cut down vines, circles around hero once.

Chain:

Works like a zelda hookshot, pulls you to posts across water, pits, etc. Straight ahead attack.

Spear:

No special powers, forward thrust.

Power attack - Throws the spear, it continues until it hits an obstacle.

Morning Star:

Breaks walls and rocks, circles the hero, followed by a forward thrust.

Power Attack - Extends range of forward thrust.

Magic Spells are also handled on the map screen. They are as follows:

Fireball - Tracks nearest enemy

Ice - Controlled by dpad after casting. 4 way control. turns enemies to snowmen which can be pushed and used to activate switches

all the others are self or straight line

I would appreciate any advice, either on making these adjustments to XAS, or on a different engine that is closer to what I want. If no such engine exists I would greatly appreciate any offers to modify an existing engine, or create a new one for me. I would be willing to pay someone a reasonable fee for this, negotiated beforehand. I will provide any other details required to complete this.
