Hello. What I'm trying to do, is to fix multiple pictures to a large map (100x100). Unfortunately, none of the existing plugins seem to work as intended on a map this large.

So far I've tried Orange Overlay, TDDP_BindPicturesToMap, and TTK_FixPicture.

Orange Overlay is a little useless to me, because I want multiple pictures (at least 10) on the same level. TTDP_BindPicturesToMap doesn't work on maps this large, it results in an error.
TTK_FixPicture doesn't seem to work at all, even on small maps, but maybe I'm using it wrong. Please let me know if you figured out how to use it on large maps.

I do not want to reduce the map size, I am perfectly happy with the 100x100.

I can't do this by putting the picture in a tileset, and making a 'large character' would be imprecise, so I do need a plugin for this. Are there any other plugins that could work for such large maps?

what is the pixel size of your pictures, and how many do you want to place?
and if you want to place ten pictures, are they supposed to be on top of each other or at different coordinates?

And how much RAM does your computer have? with such list of numbers you might approach the RAM-limit of what is physically possible - a picture in RAM requires much more space than the same picture stored on the harddrive.

lastly, what is the core version of your project's rpg_core.js file? Open it with a text editor to read the number in the title line, no number means 1.0

Maximum size would be 500x500 pixels, and around 90KB~ per picture. I want to place around 15 of them. 8GB of ram. I'm a little confused about why this is a problem in MV, I've had no such issues even in VX.

that is why I asked for the core version number.
you have more than enough RAM for those small pictures, so it's a compatibility problem with your plugins and not a capacity problem.
Please add a screenshot of your plugin manager with all plugins and their order as well.

and by the way - a 500x500 pixel 24bit color picture requires 700+ KB on the map, your 90KB is only the compressed filesize on your harddrive.

I don't see a version, so I guess it's outdated?

Like I said above if the core file has no number in its title line, then it's 1.0 - which means that it is not only outdated, but buggy as hell.
What version is your editor?

and as for the plugins - NEVER, and that really means NEVER rename the plugin file. Renaming a plugin file often destroys its data structure and makes it non-functional, especially if the new name contains letters that are forbidden under networking rules - by which I mean to tell you that your first plugin is wrongly named.
Please check where you got that plugin and make sure that the file has the correct name, then reinstall it and delete all saves that are older and contain the wrong name and reference.

after that we can try to solve your other problems

Alright, I updated my MV to version 1.6.1 which is the most recent one. I made a new project and copied some data over. I tried my luck with TTK_FixPicture again, but no luck. The picture moves with me. TTDP_BindPicturesToMap still has the same size limit. I also fixed the plugin file name like you mentioned, but that didn't even cause any issues before.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

As the author of TDDP_BindPicturesToMap, I can at least say that it's very outdated by now, as I haven't updated it in years. I've wanted to for a long time, but not had the opportunity yet. So to save you a wild goose chase I wouldn't recommend using it at this point in time :rswt

THAT
Even a quick glance shows that the help section is damaged and has HTML-code inside that should not be there (or inside your game)
However you have to look for an file with an intact help yourself, I don' know that plugin

I fixed the file by copying the original code into it and saving it again. I guess the lesson is to never download plugins, but rather copy the code and create the .js file yourself. Not sure what happened there.

Thank you for pointing it out, I'm pretty new to MV and I didn't even know it wasn't supposed to be there, even though it looked weird.
The plugin does what it's supposed to now.

And thank you for your reply!

I now have another problem regarding SRD_CameraCore, since the picture doesn't seem to scale when zooming in, but I think I'll figure it out.
Thank you once again.

no, that problem only happens on github and only if you forget to specify raw download.
in every other case (where the download is stored as a file directly) it's better to right-click and save as the download link

Good to know.

If anyone ever has the same issues - Galv's screen zoom plugin seems to work better.

I always told my DA fans how much I hate slot machines. They're fine in games as a risk-and-reward system. But when you're spending REAL MONEY in a Vegas casino to try and hit the jackpot (which very, very few people will), it can really hurt your budget. Gambling is a bad habit, and I don't like wasting my money on a slim chance. Go to Vegas for the experience, not the jackpot.
