Fixing a few bugs in a pre-existing plugin

So, a while back a user named Mogwai created a tooltip plugin that allows you to create a dictionary within the game so that whenever you hover over a text that is in the dictionary it will display information about the text in a popup. For the most part this tool is pretty slick and seems to work with most plugins. However, there are a few bugs.

1. When you click on the text it takes you to a screen to get more information on the word. However, you are unable to return to the game as an error pops up when clicking escape.

2. If you adjust the size of the game screen, you are no longer able to use the tool tip to look up words within the text.

I have not been able to contact Mogwai, and normally I would just leave this be and find a work around. However, I am trying to use this exact feature for a research project and I would greatly appreciate any help with fixing these bugs. I have attached the plugin below.

Could you please give us some info about the error you get when returning from the detail screen? If you play, trigger the error, and hit F8 you will see the developer tools. Go to the Console tab and grab a screenshot, and it will tell us what line of code is causing the error.

Also, do you mean you're adjusting the screen/window size while you are playing the game? Is the issue only when text is already displayed, or if you adjust the screen size, then display the text, is it still an issue?

I attached the screen shot and it looks like there is a problem with YEP Message Core is that right?

Also , for the screen size, when I first play the game it starts in a windowed screen and I am able to hover over texts that are in the dictionary and get a translation. However, if I make the game full screen or change the size at all then the same text becomes unresponsive. In addition, any other text that should be hoverable is not.

I don't think so ... but to be sure, can you disable that plugin, save, and try again to see if it works? If it does, it's just a possible incompatibility (which might be resolved by swapping the order of the two plugins, or might not).

I just tried without that plugin and it has all of the same errors in the console but without the YEP error... so yeah probably not the plugin... I looked at the error at line 6358 of the rpg_core.js file (copied the lines below). It looks like whatever is being done with bitmap in the plugin is not playing well with this set of bitmap code.
