Hello,it's been a while. wondering if Ch 7 will be out soon?

Long Answer:


Game is pretty much in Hiatus for the rest of the year at least. When I get back, there's a lot of editing I need to do. Chapter 7 is about average in size. However, there are a lot of corners I cut in the previous chapters (specifically 3 and 4) and I want to make sure the structure is good enough before moving on the Chapter 8, which will be the final chapter.

Awesome, really glad to see this updating again! I'm on a training course for the rest of this month, but I'm looking forward to giving it a try as soon as I have time!

It's like 200MB less.

Love the story idea. Really caught my interest.

Would be pretty funny if other "displaced" dark lords would be after the same item and the player would bump into them occasionally while on their travels

Just had to throw that out there before I try ought your game. :)

Funny story. A battle royal between Dark Lords was the original idea way back in 2014, I later decided to just focus on one of them though.

That aside, for those starting from scratch might have to redownload soon. There's a misplaced tile in Chapter 2 that prevents you from moving forward. (Don't know why, but I'll fix that). :p

Long story short, development is going smoothly, just need a bit more time because the chapter is so big. For those wanting a general idea of what to expect, Chapter 8 has 10 dungeons, and there are 20 dungeons between the begining of the game and Chapter 7.

Also, I'm currently just starting a new title as well. My goal for a while now is to get the demo for my next game up around the same time the complete beta of Flip Dimensions is uploaded. I learned a lot about game design working on this title, and I learned a lot of things that I can improve or avoid in future titles. I recognize that I can't fix every flaw Flip Dimensions has, so I'm going to harness that criticism for the sake of its predecessor.

Aiming for a March or April release. Shame I probably won't make it in time for the current event.

Summary:

About 5% of the game is left. Hopefully, this is the final update before the full release of the game. I'm going to aim for July release this time, the game is coming late because I changed computers and now use Linux OS.

I'm going to properly test the game before the last major update. I'll possibly record it and provide some commentary let's play style.

After three and a half years of development, I am proud to say Flip Dimensions is a complete game. However, if you find any bugs, typos, or balancing issues please do not hesitate to notify me. I will gladly fix these issues in a future update, but this will be the last update to feature new content.

Here's what's included in version 1.0:
-Chapter 8, the final chapter in the game.

-A difficulty setting, the game can be played in easy mode or hard mode. This can be adjusted in the options menu.

-Fullscreen++, for those who have widescreen monitors or just want a bigger window, the game window's size can be adjusted by pressing F6 and will upscale to full screen by pressing F5.

-New Game +, for those who want to experience the story while feeling like a badass. Unlocked after finishing the game.

-Alternative Endings, in New Game+ these can be accessed by touching crystals found in each town and refighting the final boss.

-Town NPCs (About time).

-A few bug fixes. Current list of bug fixes is fixed. All Rin coins should be accessible.

Thank you to everyone who supported this game, be it playing a previous demo or commenting on it. This has been an experience for me, and I hope to improve my gamedev skills for future projects. Seriously, I can't thank you all enough.

I hope you enjoy the game.

Hello everyone.

Since it's release last week, I have been updating the project in the background. I didn't make most of this public because they mostly changes not directly related to Chapter 8, and those who are continuing from Chapter 7 didn't need to download those updates.

However, this current one is related to Chapter 8, and it directly prevents the player from obtaining the game's proper ending. I recommend everyone to download the patch and extract it into the game's folder if they have already downloaded the game.

To generalize details, in the Sineba segment in Chapter 8, the game freezes after a boss battle. This update, and its respective patch, fixes this issue.

Completing this segment of Chapter 8 is required for the game's true ending, apologies for anyone confused if they skipped this because of the glitch and got the bad ending.

Edit: I never mentioned on this site that I do have patches. You'll find them on the download page on the game's RMN page, simply extract them into the game's folder. Download size should be about 10%-20% compared to redownloading the game.

Another update, fixes a few more bugs.

-Fixes a loop that can occur in the Ayldan church during Chapter 5.
-Shoaling merchant's text is correctly updated to ask for only 20k instead of 100k.
-Collision issue in the Dream Sequence in Chapter 8 fixed.
-Fixed another loop that can occur in Chapter 8.

Would be nice, but it doesn't exactly work like that.
Some of the resources used in the game are restricted to only be used non-commercially (Artists like Toby Fox and Alex Roe) and can't be used in commercial projects. Not to mention the game itself has been free for a month now anyway.

Maybe years from now I'll remake the game and only use custom resources, but that's not on my agenda for now.

-Over 400 Grammar Fixes
-Couple Dozen Bug Fixes
-Infinite Tower has been changed to be less annoying with a simpler gimmick

The game should be much more presentable. Now I don't have to be as embarrassed when someone does a Let's Play.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
