I figured sense its 80% done, ill ask people what they think of the mechanics of my fnaf-like game, which is set in a fantasy world

Best of all no jumpscares, although you could still get attacked

Anyway. You have a door to protect yourself, and if its closed, a heat variable starts going up. If it reaches full, you die

You can reduce the heat, but are frozen for as ling as you are. You have three options to reduce heat, each keeping you frozen for a longer amount of time, yet reducing more heat when its done

There are also a few enemies to defend yourself from with different attack patterens/conditions. Just so you can get an idea of context for those who never played the game. Theres also the camera system that monitors different rooms to see where the enemies are

Well. Ill probably have the demo out between mid-august to early september depending on how busy i am

Anyway. What do you think the flaws and benifits of this system would be gameplay wise?

To be honest it's hard to tell...

FNAF was boring and absolutely not scary for me, especially 2nd and 3rd.

But seeing *something like* that in RPG Maker... I don't know how it would turn out, but I'm curious. =P

I can't really tell if that would be good or not, but I'm sure of one thing - I would love to see that in action.

flaws:

- FNAF-like game gets easily boring after first *jumpscares* etc. I'm not sure if RPG game could do better.

- In RM it will be harder to make that game *scary* or keep up the proper climate.

benefits:

- Even if this will get boring after few minutes, the first minutes should be really enjoyable. (discovering stuff *jumpscares* like in FNAF games)

- A RM game like this is kinda uncommon, so I definitely would give it a try.

Im not going to try to make it scary. In rm you lose limited veiwpoint and first person. So this isnt supposed to be a scary game

What it will be though, is story driven, and im going to try to find replayability and add little details here and there

Id like to make the enviornment interactive, but havent yet figured out how to enable a mouse script without it closing the camera everytime you click on something

Thats were this is going to differ than fnaf. A interactive inviornment which isnt possible in any genre except fantasy

I want to add puzzles and other things to keep the player occupied and shake up gameplay

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
