Fog of War plugin?

Is there a high performance fog of war plugin? I assume it should be linked to some MV lighting script.

btw I tried searching "fog of war" before posting but system told me the words were too short or common to complete the search. XD

I don't understand what is "fog of war" and what does it do??

Fog of War is a lighting effect usually used in RTS games. When the game starts, the fog covers the entire map in darkness, and as the player walks to a new area it becomes uncovered.

I've also been looking. The few that exist aren't really what I was hoping for. I use a node based overworld and was hoping to hide unexplored areas without complex eventing or using multiple maps. A solution is to use multiple parallax overlays but that isn't very elegant or dynamic enough to suit my needs.
