Hey all. I hope your week is off to a good start!

I'm encountering a problem from trying a new font in RPG Maker MV, as I don't want to use the default one.

I've installed the font, but I'm encountering a continued "Now Loading" screen upon starting up a playtested game from RPG Maker MV. I'm sure I messed up somewhere, so if anyone could help out, that'd be fantastic. Here's how the code looks in Notepad:

If you need more information to help: 1) I apologize for not including enough!, and 2) Just ask!

Do you only have the issues of the "Now Loading" screen after you add custom font? I have seen that screen come up randomly when starting games, and sometimes even on map change. I think (but don't know, so its speculation) I THINK it is related to the memory leak issue.

It's technically absolutely impossible for this to be related to the memory leak - a memory leak means that something is not removed from memory after the game no longer needs it, using up memory during gaming - but at launch there can be no memory leak by definition, because the engine is only loading all resources it needs, and hasn't any resources to be discarded.

Something is blocking the loading of a file - it doesn't need to be the font, it can be something else (unless you tested it by changing only the new font).

You need to find out what is being blocked from loading, why it is being blocked and remove that block.

Some guesses: wrong path to the fonts, wrong fontfilename (for example, qlassik_tb.ttf is a different file than Qlassik_TB.ttf, you need to have the correct capitalization) or an anti-malware/anti-virus blocking the access ("because any browser accessing local files has to be a virus" - there are programs that block that)

Is there a way to see exactly what is being blocked from loading? I looked up the error through Google and saw this short discussion. The poster who mentions a PreloadManager  plugin sort of made a confusing sentence, so I don't know if that person is saying that using that plugin would help me solve this.

I'm dredging this up because, I am experiencing this very same situation and I am certain that it is because I changed fonts.

I copied the .ttl file [rm_almanack_old.ttf] to the fonts folder.
Opened the gamefont.css in notepad and edited this section:
Code:
@font-face {
    font-family: GameFont;
    src: url("mplus-1m-regular.ttf");
}
...to...
Code:
@font-face {
    font-family: GameFont;
    src: url("rm_almanack_old.ttf");
}
Saved the .css file.
Playtested....and it sticks on Now Loading...

I then went back, following the same steps, only this time reverting the font name back to the original and it play tests just fine.

I have noticed that some fonts do work and others do not. But all font files show up just fine in the font folder of my computer and can be used without issue.
Maybe this is some weird bug within the Maker? Maybe some odd thing off in the font file?

I would really like to use this font. Any help would be appreciated.

[mod]Please do not Hijack other people's topics but start your own topic for your problems[/mod]
In our experience, there are often differences between cases that will require them to use different solutions, and mixing them up only complecates matters. For that reason you're required to start your own topics and at maximum reference other cases.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
