Forum Changelog (March 4, 2019)

Hi everyone!

The maintenance is now over and as you might have noticed, the forum layout is extremely different today!
Here's a write up of some of the important changes we've done to make your forum browsing and posting easier.

General Updates

• Community Central has a few renames to make the purpose of the boards much clearer. We also merged past events to community announcements. From this day on, Community Announcements and Events will only showcase current community activities while Product Announcements now includes sales!

• We renamed a few categories from Game Development to Maker General. This is to accommodate the new Maker Central boards where people can post their websites and streaming activities involving Maker games.

• Product Support now has categories. This is to make it easier for members to find where to ask for help for a particular DLC.

Project Boards Updates

• We added a new board called, Latest Game Development Engine. This shows what engines we are currently supporting and updating. Hence, Visual Novel Maker and RPG Maker MV are on that spot. I also moved the RPG Maker Official Freebies there so people won't miss them next time!

• Ideas and Prototypes have now been renamed to Game Ideas and Prototypes. It also contains a rule change. The function of the board was a bit weird but now it's fixed. You can now post here if you have a project specific idea and need help. The board is no longer moderated either, so have fun sharing your ideas and asking for feedback!

• Crowdfunding Project Boards has been erased and is no longer supported in this website. We have multiple instances of moderation headache and a lot of strife against various members when they are involved.

• Commercial RPG Maker Games discussion has now been re-branded as Commercial Games Discussion. Due to other Maker engines like Visual Novel Maker.

Resource Boards Updates

• Resource Staff Releases is now moved to Resource Central. This way it's more integrated to people looking for free things.

• Classifieds has been moved to Resource Central. This way, you can check free resources and ask for paid ones much faster! The board is only visible to Veteran members.

It was a good idea of changes well adapted to the needs of multiple engines from Degica.

Also I wonder if one of my cathegory subscibe was affected /closed down due to renames. Well I will look afterward ^^

@Archeia So does this mean for crowdfunded games can no longer be advertised like at all here? What if you link your site but on your site there is a link for crowdfunding would that be okay? Sorry I just want to make sure I get it straight.

This could be a huge problem for not just me, but other people who lack the funds themselves to obtain the assets that people need.

You know I was thinking the same thing I never got the chance to post my game in there so it’s very unfortunate that others created problems for the mods and ultimately this happened.

In the past two years we had no more than 5 games posted in that section and at least two of them caused a lot of drama. It wasn’t worth it to keep it.

You can still link it in your sig and in your project thread. But the moment it causes drama it will be removed. We just don't have a dedicated board to it anymore.
