Welcome to the official RPG Maker forums. We have a short list of simple to follow rules, so please read through them below. Individual subforums may have more specific rules or exceptions to these rules.
NOTE: This is the official forum for RPG Maker products and Visual Novel Maker. We do not offer support for programs that are not sold in our store, nor do we allow advertising and requests pertaining to non-RPG Maker/Visual Novel Maker software. Please refrain from requesting materials or services for non-RPG Maker/Visual Novel Maker activities. Do not discuss other game engines not published by Degica or resource selling websites here.
1. Do NOT insult, flame, and/or harass other users on the board, or anyone outside it. This includes the usage of slurs which aren't allowed either.
1.2 Do NOT discuss religion, politics, conspiracy theories, or nationalism (nationalism is defined as discussion about why one country/nation is better than others or why a country/nation is bad) outside the scope of game development.
1.3 These forums operate in English as a standard language. You may compose a message in any other language you need to for your own benefit but a translation to English is required. This may be accomplished with an online tool if needed.
2. Do NOT discuss how to carry out illegal activities or any illegal activities you have committed. This includes but is not limited to the use of illegal drugs and piracy.
2.2 Piracy of our own products here is not tolerated, and falls under our instant ban rules.
2.3 We do not support use of ripped materials (those taken from someone else's game - especially, but not limited to, commercial games). Do not ask for ripped resources or for help with ripping resources. Do not post them in your own thread or in response to a request. Do not ask for help with formatting ripped resources or for any other assistance getting them working in your game. If you post a game or demo here using ripped resources, we will remove your game if requested by the copyright owner.
3. Do NOT post illegal materials.
4. Do NOT post disruptively. This includes, but is not limited to:
4.2 Do NOT create an account just to spam, advertise, insult, troll, or criticize our members and/or threads.
4.3 Do NOT continue to argue in the same thread after a moderator or admin has used mod voice (blue or red text) to warn you, or report their post. Please PM the moderator if you wish to discuss your warning or follow the procedure at the bottom of this post.
4.4 Do NOT post ChatGPT or other AI generated responses without including your own opinions, experiences, and input. Additionally, sources if AI is used to state something as factual. Posting a generated response that could be obtained by anyone using these tools is low quality and will be considered spam. This may warrant your post being removed or other actions on a case-by-case basis.
5. Do NOT advertise paid services or products in your signature, posts, or profile feed (please see our rules for profile feeds here).
5.1. You may link to your personal site, game, forum, or resources in your signature.
5.2. You may not advertise for commercial purposes EXCEPT for games made with RPG Maker XP, RPG Maker VX, RPG Maker VX Ace, RPG Maker MV, RPG Maker MZ, Visual Novel Maker, or IG Maker.
5.3. Crowdfunding and donation platforms are permitted for game projects only. Direct links to your campaign must be contained to your game thread. These campaigns must be related to your approved RPG Maker games. No exceptions.
5.4. Do NOT advertise invites to your chat channels (e.x. Discord, Slack) in your post replies or status updates. What happens in those channels stays in those channels. We do not endorse them. We do not moderate based on what happens in them. You may include a server invite for your game or let’s play community in your game or let’s play thread only. You may include Discord contact details in your signature.
5.5. Do NOT offer or request commissions (including scripts and plugins) unless you have access to the Classifieds section (after 30 posts) and have made an approved thread.
5.6. Do NOT offer your pre-made resources for sale in your threads, posts, signature, profile feed, or via PM. If you have pre-made resources you want to sell here, submit an official store submission.
Note - If any links in your threads hosting the resource contain eventual routes to your paid content, this is acceptable. Just please do not directly link or advertise your paid content, donation links, etc or otherwise use this forum as an extension of your storefront.
6. Do NOT have a signature larger than 800x220 pixels. You may use spoilers to keep your signature smaller than this. Spoiler tags are included in the final size of the signature.
7. Do NOT attempt to take moderation into your own hands. Use the report prompt.
8. Do NOT encourage drama, such as site wars.
8.2 Do NOT make passive aggressive reports and/or status updates directed toward moderators to cause drama. In particular, reporting posts by moderators you disagree with and to make an attack or "troll" towards them. This will no longer be excusable. If you have a problem with a post a moderator made, follow the correct procedures in this thread.
9. Do NOT use EXCESSIVE profanity, particularly against a member as this falls under rule #1 automatically.
10. Do NOT post anything that isn't fit for a PG-13 forum. This site welcomes people of these ages. This includes, but is not limited to:
11. Do NOT use blue or red text in your posts. Blue and red text is used by moderating staff for mod actions to make sure people take notice of what they are saying. Exceptions are made for formatting in opening posts of Project Threads, Tutorial threads, Completed Script threads, and Resource threads if you need something to be very obvious like disclaimers or important instructions. Since its an opening post, it shouldn't interfere with mod voice.
12. Do NOT use unreadable colors for your text.
13. Do NOT start contests or forum-wide events, regardless of whether there is a prize involved or not, unless you have permission from an administrator. Please contact a moderator for permission. We reserve the right to deny permission if the event would interfere with an official staff event or contest.
14. Do NOT anger the gorilla.
15. UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, FORUM GAMES ARE BANNED [The kind of threads where you ask people to post X about the person above them, etc. etc.]
16. Do NOT contact other members by private message, on the forum or status feed to invite them to put additional tools (such as leaderboards, ads, etc - whether yours or another person's) into their game.

INSTANT BAN OFFENSES
In all cases of instant ban offenses, your account will be first suspended while an investigation is done into the offense. After an investigation is done (which may only take a few minutes depending on the obviousness of your offense), you will be banned. The following are instant ban offenses:
1. Using pirated RM software, or pirated resource packs. This WILL get you an instant ban. We don't tolerate piracy here.
2. Credit theft. Do NOT claim any art, music, scripts, etc. as your own unless you made them. Credit people before submitting a post!
3. Ban/Suspension evading.
4. Duplicate accounts created to circumvent or break other forum rules, or simply to "agree" with your other accounts in a thread.
5. (Mass)-PM'ing members to recruit them to your website/forum or to ask them to buy your product. Do not harass our members with advertising.
6. We reserve the right to ban someone without notification on a case-by-case basis.

These rules are enforced and interpreted by our moderating staff. If you see someone breaking the rules, INCLUDING FORUM STAFF, submit a report using the report system.
In the event you disagree with a moderator’s actions against you, follow the procedure below in lieu of the standard report function:
1. If it was a Moderator, contact one of the Global Moderators and skip to step 4.
2. If it was a Global Moderator, contact one of the Admins and skip to step 4.
3. If it was an Admin, contact the Lead Admin (Touchfuzzy).
4. Write a PM to this contact with a link to the post that was moderated. Provide a polite explanation of why you believe this was not a violation of our rules, or why you were treated unfairly.
5. If you are still not happy after communication with that member of the moderating staff, move up one step of the ladder (Global Mod-to-Admin, Admin-to-Lead Admin.)
