Tutorial topic: how to pack a game build for Windows (hence the title)
Brief description
Both "Build for > Windows" and "Create Game Package/Windows" commands generate a game folder, instead than a single ".exe", which can be pretty annoying. This tutorial explains how to pack your game folder in a single executable.
Requirements
Tutorial body
  1. Execute Enigma Virtual Box;

  2. Insert you unboxed ".exe" path under "Enter Input File Name:" or use the "Browse" button next to it;
  3. Insert the path you want to use for the boxed executable under "Enter Output File Name:" or use the "Browse" button next to it. You can also use the default path, if you wish to;

  4. Click on "Add...", then click on "Add Folder Recursive" from the menu that will show up;

  5. A new window will open. Select your game build folder, then click on "OK" at the bottom of it;
    3.PNG
  6. A new dialogue box will appear. Just click on "OK" at the bottom of it;

  7. A new folder is now supposed to be displayed on screen. Click on the "Process" button;

  8. Wait until the process is completed.

Very useful. I have been looking for something like this not only for VNM but also a few other game engines I am experimenting with. Thank you!

Hey I use this to make my games, .exe file, but when testing I'm having issues with saving the game.

I cannot save a game in the save file provided within the game file...

Try with Database - > System - > Save in App Data Directory or something.

How is it called a rpg maker game without the default "pokemon-like" battle system?
Unfortunately, while trying to run an app I needed (curse you, Adobe!), my laptop blacked out, so my data got wiped when I got it repaired. Stuff like facesets are saved in my drive, but my sprites now only exist as screenshots I've taken in the past :kaocry:To be fair, I'm a little relieved, since I've been feeling unsatisfied with the visual style of the character sprites, and I guess I can now revamp them?

after lot's of edits to Mike's attacks (to make it seamless with movement, no EX versions, cost 1-ups), I finally got combo skills to work. had to do a lot moving tho to get the combo list to appear where it is lol. that actually took longer than setting up the moves.
What's kind of amazing is I've been in a developmental rut for the LONGEST time but putting a music mix on of video game soundtracks and specifically hearing the VX Ace music come up and it's nostalgia of me being excited to make my first game has REALLY got me going again!
